(no subject)
We all know that this semester I had an independent study wherein I would adapt a Gaelic tale, write the script in Gaelic, and draw a graphic novel based on the script. We also all know I procrastinated until the panic mode I'm in and I'm praying Padraig will be nice and let me have an incomplete.
I decided a few weeks ago to do it in manga style because that is what's easiest and quickest for me. Famous last words. I decided to use some of the pages for my Digital Tools final project because I would kill two birds with one stone and lessen my workload.

Because it's getting graded by Rose as well, I need to have a visually stunning presentation. So guess what I chose to do?
Well, let me rephrase: What is the hardest thing to do in manga-style?
Yep, colorization. Black and white and screentones are nice and easy, because the lineart usually withstands blank areas of just lines and white space. But no, I had to go for not just a colored manga, but a high-quality CG-type-colorization style manga.
The good news is, once Padraig sees the page or two I'll have for him colored (I'm hoping to print at least one out at work tomorrow. Yay for color printers.), he'll understand why I'm desperate to have extra time. Please please please let him be wowed enough to forgive me my stupidity yet again.
Because damn if it don't take a day and a half to get everything just right.
I'm going to aim for a 3AM bedtime, with wake-up at 8AM again, so I can get a couple more pages sketched and inked and work in the 3N lab with the scanners and such. Then work at 11AM, Mysticism class at 3:30PM. For Mysticism, I'm creating a children's book explaining mysticism. It's all cutouts, no words --I have to type up an accompanying statement explaining the thing, but that'll take like 15 mins. I have no glue, so I'll paste it together at work tomorrow. Either that or during the 1.25 hrs I have between work and class.
Can someone please explain to me why I always, always take the hardest route? Hm? Really, have I ever made anything easy for myself? *headdesk*
As soon as this new song batch is done downloading, I need to restart my computer. Photoshop always lasts only a short while on my somewhat dated (4 yrs) laptop, and causes a need for rebooting or else it just won't work. *sigh*
