On the guilty pleasure that is 'Making the Band 3'

Making the Band 3 Season 2 Premiere was tonight!

...And I'm nervous. I don't particularly care for Aundrea and Malika, (though props to the latter for all her effort), but the season previews at the end of the episode showed Aubrey having difficulties with the new girls. I mean, it must be terribly awkward to have old and new candidates together,

The house was completely stripped bare. If you think NYU housing sucks, the girls' renovated pad from last season is worse. Diddy came into the house and told the girls he had stripped the house of its frills because he wanted the group to be completely focused. Smart, but also dangerous, since there's fewer distractions from the drama of living with over a dozen other girls. Especially since there's just the one big bunkbed bed room.

There are more than a dozen new girls, and already I like one of them. Dominique lost 11 pounds between her audition and round two of auditions because the judges told her she'd need to lose at least 10. All I can say is, damn, that's dedication. Unfortunately, unless she steps up her dancing and personality, she's not going to make it.

Though afterwards when I switched to Cartoon Network, I saw a menu for DirecTV satellite setup and the channel's image started jumping. Er, I think mayhap someone in the dorm is attempting to circumvent the NYU cable system...

My Japanese lit class went to a calligraphy 'school' today during our classtime, and we practiced on newspaper before graduating to rice paper. My practice kanji on the newsprint looked so much better than my rice paper attempt. I really do perform badly when under pressure to produce something of quality. My highest quality drawings are those done idly as a distraction from class or TV. Interesting how that is so obvious in my work.

JJ swung by my dorm, and we talked for a few hours. It was so nice to talk with someone who knows me and loves me that well. *sigh* I miss sophomore year. I miss living in a house with nine other sorority girls. I miss JJ.

Going to bed now. It's what, a quarter past two AM? Whee!
