News
Kids found in cages said to be well-behaved. This is the headline for this story here about some couple that kept 11 children aged 1 - 14 years old in cages in the basement.

On the one hand, the kids were well-fed, clean cut, clothed, and apparently well-behaved and well-adjusted. On the other hand...cages? Though perhaps solitary confinement was needed for these developmentally-challenged children.

The title of the Yahoo! listing threw me off more than anything here.

Family
I love my family. My daddy just gave me some money in my bank account, so I can go buy the remainder of my textbooks tomorrow. Yay! And maybe, just maybe...I can buy a new pair of shoes. Sneakers. Sneakers are comfy and, if chosen correctly, stylish enough to be cute. Oh, sneaker love. Anyway, I had a cute little email exchange with my daddy, and apparently my pseudo-weekly email updates to the family is much-loved. Kudos to kathynancygirl for the idea.

My brother has apparently expressed interested in working for Hilary Clinton.

...

I would make a joke about interns here, since my brother is fairly attractive and a bit of a pushover, but I'm just not that comical. And I suppose my brother is attractive. Sibling bond aside, he's just not my type, though I understand that many other females find him good-looking.

[ETA] I hung out with catatonicia for dinner today --she treated me, which was nice if somewhat embarrassing. I promised to take her to a ramen place once I get my paycheck, though, so it's all good. I also promised her links to the Daily Sporfle Highlights One and Two, and Fandom_wank.

Because sometimes, you simply have to wonder how the human species has survived so long.
