[SCENE] [backdated like whoa] Lana, Ema and Klavier in: Lunchtime Threesomes

Feb 23, 2009 03:12

[[T'was before Ema left for Europe again, before the whole Jake and Edgeworth kerfuffle, etc...!]]

Ema: Wasn't that awesome? I really enjoyed the Body Worlds exhibit, even more than I thought I would. What'd you think? *trots down the steps of the Science Center, very enthusiastically, alongside her sister. They just spent the entire morning inside, checking out all of the science exhibits. Ema's cheerful demeanor is at least partially owed to the fact that they didn't run into Klavier at all, a meeting she had been expecting and dreading. It seems as though the fop has decided to leave her alone for once*

Lana: *places the Science Center's pamphlets into her purse as she walks down the steps beside her sister. She seems as cheerful as Ema, though she displays it in a quieter manner* It was handled far more tastefully than I'd expected. I enjoyed it as well. *with quite an amused smile* There weren't as many people there as I thought there would be however, for such a new exhibit.

Klavier: *It's a lovely day out, sunny and warm and perfect for an incognito rock star to relax on a bench near the street. He of course spots the girls easily, smiling to himself from beneath his glasses. Ema looks happy, and he holds back from trying to get their attention for a moment knowing that as soon as she see him she'll probably start glaring. So, he enjoys a moment longer before pushing to his feet, one hand behind his back as he watches them approach. It would be interesting, to see who would notice him first*

Ema: *pauses a moment, tapping at her glasses as she does so* Yeah, I thought that was a little strange too. The last time we were here - that was a really long time ago, wasn't it? - there were way more people here. Though the last exhibit was about entomology, and you know how people are about bugs. *laughs lightly, her good mood obvious*

Lana: It was over ten years ago, at least-- but I still remember that particular day quite clearly. *glances up and ahead in almost a cursory manner, but her eyes catch sight of the incognito figure seated on the bench almost immediately* Oh-- What a coincidence. I suppose he did make an appearance today, after all. *she speaks with a smile, and far too little surprise in her voice*

Klavier: *smiles brightly once he sees he's noticed. He doesn't approach, waiting instead for the pair to come to him only so it wouldn't seem like he was completely butting in. When Ema looks up, he lifts his free hand in a greeting wave*

Ema: What? *follows her sister's gaze, and her expression sours immediately. As Klavier lifts his hand to wave, she quickly darts her eyes away from him to look at Lana, letting out a groan* I knew it! I just knew it was too lucky that he didn't show up! *crosses her arms across her chest tightly, and adopts almost a whining, childish tone* Lana, do we have to go over there? We could pretend we didn't even see him.

Lana: But he already sees us. *she's already waving back, of course, and stepping over to meet him* Good afternoon, Prosecutor Gavin. It's quite a lovely day, isn't it?

Klavier: Indeed it is, though I think it just got lovelier. *smiling hopefully, he brings his hand around from behind his back, revealing a pair of lillies--one is white, the other almost tiger striped. The former is offered to Lana, the wilder one to Ema*

Ema: *stares blankly at the lily for a moment, before accepting it and grumbling out a "thanks" that is so quiet it might not even be audible. She folds her arms and gives him a skeptical look* So... did you happen to be randomly out enjoying the day right in front of the Science Center, with... lilies? *she twirls the one in her hand for emphasis*

Lana: *seems rather surprised at the flower and accepts it with a smile, murmuring a far less begrudging thank you. She glances to Klavier after Ema speaks* It's quite a pleasant encounter, random or no.

Klavier: Not so random, *he confesses brightly* I had hoped to see you here, of course. *tilts his head hopefully* Perhaps I might be twice as lucky and manage to convince you both to share lunch with me?

Ema: *doesn't say anything, but simply sends Lana a look that obviously says "If you say yes, I won't talk to you for a week."*

Lana: *hums out a note in consideration--she's certainly caught the look from her sister, but her response is to raise an eyebrow and tilt her head bemusedly* We were just on our way to lunch...

Klavier: *nods his understanding.* Of course, I wouldn't want to intrude on your time together. I confess this was a purely selfish whim of mine, to hope to spend a meal with some pleasant company.

Ema: *snappishly* Mmmhmm. It is. Let's go, Lana. *grabs her sister's arm and starts to walk off*

Lana: *doesn't budge in the least--her voice, when she speaks, is chiding in that parental "I'm surprised and disappointed in you" way* Ema! *apologetically* I'm sorry, Mr. Gavin. It seems my sister is still adamantly refusing to have other people treat her to lunch. *glances over at Ema, something faintly amused in her still-formal tone* But perhaps if you joined us for lunch instead...?

Klavier: *smiles, pleased* I would be honored to. Did you drive? I could get us a cab if you like.

Ema: *she's clearly displeased, but by now she's realized that neither Lana, nor Klavier, will let her get out of this. Warily* We... didn't drive.
Lana: It was just a short walk over here from our place. Perhaps a taxi would be best, for now. *glancing between the two individuals in front of her* Is there any particular place either of you have in mind?

Klavier: I can be immensely flexible, *turns slightly so they can start walking together* Though perhaps something with a salad bar? I know Ema seems to prefer that when eating out.

Ema: *frowns, not looking at him* I'm kind of in the mood for pizza, actually. *pauses, glancing at Lana* If that's all right with you both?

Lana: I wouldn't mind pizza. *she's surveying her sister's frowny-face with a smile*

Klavier: *chuckles* I stand corrected. Pizza it is--I know a fantastic Italian place that makes a wonderful pizza. *steps away from the pair to the edge of the street, waving two fingers to get the attention of an approaching cab*

Ema: *a cab stops at the curb and the cab driver leans out, explaining that the seat belt in the front seat is broken so they'll have to cram in the back. Ema maintains her pout and slides in*

Lana: *holds the door open for Klavier, a rather teasing smile still on her features* After you, Mr. Gavin.

Klavier: *Feeling that Lana may be on his side--at last--he nods and slips in beside Ema. He turns back to offer the elder sister a hand in entering the cab. Once they are all in, he gives the name and directions for the restaurant they're heading to*

Ema: *folds her arms unhappily across her middle and scoots closer to the door*

Lana: *sits up proper, as much as the space will allow --and watches the two others with the not entirely discreet eye of a curious parental figure. She toys with the lily in her hands as she does so*

Klavier: I hope you both have enough room, *glances between them with some amusement.* You don't need to cram off to the side for my sake.

Ema: *doesn't budge* I'm fine right here.

Lana: *considerably more cheerful sounding* I have enough space over here as well. *finally stops eyeing the two of them, turning her gaze out to the window*

Klavier: *glances between the pair of them, finding the situation comical. Trapped between a pair of sisters, one already seeing someone and the other hating him. He chuckles softly.* Did you enjoy the museum?

Ema: Yes, actually, although they didn't have a forensics display... The rotating exhibit was about the human body and there were all these different structures set up with examples of people doing everyday tasks and how it affects the body. It was actually pretty interesting... *although she started off facing the window and sitting quite rigidly, by the end of her spiel she's relatively more relaxed and even unconsciously sliding closer to Klavier on the seat. She's even smiling*

Lana: It was all quite well done. We didn't even have to speak to the curators at any point regarding any inaccuracies. *glances back towards the interior of the taxi briefly to gauge her sister's reaction-- at the sight of her contented, she breaks into a wide smile as well* Ema has always kept them on their toes.

Klavier: I wouldn't doubt it for a moment. She's rather adapt at that with regards to more than just science. *relaxes a little as well, looking to Ema with a faint smile*

Ema: *her eyebrows furrow, and she gives him a curious glance* What is that supposed to mean...?

Klavier: *chuckles, watching her from the corner of his eyes.* Was I unclear? You're rather adapt at keeping people on their toes in all ways. At least, that has been my experience.

Ema: *quirks her brow* And how do I keep you on your toes?

Klavier: *his grin widens* Would you like all the ways? *teases* Some of them I'd hate to bring up in any place that wasn't private. As much as I enjoy seeing you blush, I'm not sure the cab driver needs to be subjected to such talk.

Ema: *she blushes and sends him a glare, flustered* I-I didn't mean that way!

Klavier: *it was always fun to make her blush* You asked in which ways--I was simply answering you. If you'd rather I lie next time, please let me know ahead of time. As a fop, it's difficult for me to pick up some subtle hints.

Ema: *turns away toward the window. Quietly* W-well... I didn't think you meant it like that.

Klavier: *his smile softens* I meant it in several ways, Fraulein, *continues, pulling back from teasing for the moment* You have too quick and logical a mind.

Ema: *turns back, ever so slightly* Should I take that as a compliment?

Klavier: Absolutely. You are a force I would hate to cross or anger. *his lips quirk*

Ema: *smirks* You've already had the pleasure of having that happen a few times, I think.

Klavier: I have, and yet I keep coming back for more. It must just be because you're so adorably charming, even when angered.

Ema: *there's a pause - she's clearly debating how to respond to this. Then, dryly* Do you tell that to all the girls who find you incredibly annoying?

Klavier: Only the ones that I find downright cute, *he replies immediately, winking* As a rockstar, it wouldn't do for me to hit on anyone who wasn't attractive.

Ema: *rolls her eyes* Then why don't you go persistently stalk and irk one of your groupies... instead of me?

Klavier: Isn't it obvious? *reaches up to brush the back of his knuckles against her cheek before she could chance to duck away* Because you're obviously better than them.

Ema: *flinches away automatically, and averts her eyes from him* Cut it out, okay?

Klavier: Just for now. *settles back, pleased. They're nearly to the restaurant by then*

Lana: *she'd been sitting back and listening to the eeeeeeeeentire conversation without trying to appear as though she's hanging on every word (although she is of course doing just that), but when the talk dies down, she offers up a polite hum* It seems as though you two still have a lot of catching up to do.

Klavier: *He chuckles, glancing over to the quiet sister with a little smirk* Do we? Seems to me that we picked up right where we left off.

Ema: *exhales heavily, but doesn't comment for a moment* How far away is this Italian place of yours, exactly? *it's clear from her tone of voice that she's impatient and itching to get out*

Lana: *glances out the front to check-- just in time to see the cab driver signal left and begin to make the turn into a parking lot* *pleasantly* It seems as though we're here.

Klavier: And so we are. *turns to grin at Ema this time* I'm sorry to say it, but I'm afraid I'll be torturing you with my presence for a few more minutes as we eat. I hope it won't put off your appetite.

Ema: *very dryly* I'll try not to become ill.

Lana: *the taxi stops by the entrance of the restaurant, and she reaches to her bag to pay the fare*

Klavier: *catches her hand before she can do so* Absolutely not. *insists* After annoying you and your sister so well, it's my duty to pay. *his other hand fishes out his wallet*

Ema: *rolls her eyes - this'll be yet another thing she owes him for. The fact that he's so easy to pay for everything makes her slightly uncomfortable. She reaches for his hand, grabbing it to stop him from paying* Here, at least let me split it with you, okay?

Klavier: *gently frees himself from her grip* Why not let me take this one, and we can figure out the rest inside, ja? Rather than leave the gentleman in the front seat waiting. *He glances up to the eyes watching them in the rearview mirror*

Ema: *sighs* Fine. But you're not paying for my meal again, got it?

Lana: *lightly* I'll be the one to cover that. *opens the door and steps out to the curb, leaving the door open for the other two*

Klavier: *follows, though he doesn't try and help Ema out--just to make sure she doesn't get a chance to be mad for helping her again*

Ema: *slides out as well, seeming satisfied at that*

Lana: *conceals an amused smile, twirling the flower in one hand and deciding to lead the threesome into the restaurant before another kerscuffle breaks out between the two "lovebirds"*
