Slightly Frozen...

Argh, I hate St. Louis!! If I didn't have friends and family here, I think I would run as far away from this place as absolutely, humanly possible. There's supposedly a lot of sun spot activity lately so that the Northern Lights should be visible as far south as Northern Arizona and Arkansas. So, Mom, Chris and I go and walk to this dark field that is adjacent to our neighborhood. And we froze our butts off looking up at the sky. St. Louis is just too bright! No aurora borealis. Nope. However, we did see 2-3 shooting stars, which was pretty cool, I suspect that they're part of the Leonids (I think) which peak next week. And they weren't faint meteorites either!

This weekend was cool! The competition in St. Joseph went really well. Anna and I had fun in the car up and back, and gosh does her mom drive FAST!! Like 80mph. Consistently. I think the first thing my mom said to me when it was just the two of us was something like "Gosh, does she drive fast!" And the competition itself was cool. Saw a bunch of familiar faces. Lesley and Holley from school. And John Strand from STARS. And I don't know if anyone remembers Josephine Pang, but she went to MICDS in 6th grade and, I think, transferred to JBS in 7th grade. Anna knew a lot of people too, from symphony and from school, and family, etc.

Anyway, I placed I- in my 11th grade division, which is good for me because I've received II's the past two years and because of the breakdown.
There were 21 total, 1 winner, 1 runner up, 3 Honorable Mention, 4 I-, and the rest were II+ and II.

And the duets, gosh, those went great!! I thought I did okay, but Anna, bless her, manages to match everything so perfectly. We ended up winning the senior ensemble division. COOLNESS!!! Not only a I but also a W!

Plus, on the way back, we got to eat all sorts of fun foods, Anna's mom brought some sort of rice cracker/cakes, which were really yummy, and my mom brought biscotti, and dried blueberries (yum!!!), and pumpkin cookies... and navel oranges...

Today at school went all right. Troubs tryouts on Sunday, if I better get a part this year, because if I don't I will KILL someones. I don't want to sound arrogant, but I know that I have a more powerful voice than some of the kids who were in it last year. And How do I know that? Because I sat in the pit band, doing a thankless job, listening to them all.

Big chem test tomorrow, so good night all!
