I've been in something of a dark mood, but really, we are all ok. This is my first day using my new computer that I've had a month now - just got around to installing and upgrading things yesterday. It is an iMac - 20" screen, supposed to be super-powerful, but I hate change. I cannot even type on the keyboard without major backspacing. rrrrhhhhgggg.
Aye I think that one is also my favourite for its depth and composition, despite some infuriating moments with the white balance and mud versus tripod lol...
I am good thanks, sorting things out and have some future plans ahead finally that will take me from the rut of a routine I have got into here in South Wales.
Heylo - I have missed thee too! And yes, the moss and twisted tree roots and creepers are the main reason I love that spot.
I am well thanks, decided to deal with various points of my life gradually...step-by-step - which even carries over to catching up on lj. I intend to be be more consistent this year, as soo nas I catch up.
I've been more creative, doing yoga again for the first time consistently for about 3-4 years. Working on body & mind. The flat is proving to be a much more comfortable environment for these things. Also my future career path type plans are in the works....at a somewhat anxious point of judgement!
How are you? How were your holidays? I wish you well for 2007 :)
Yes, I have often thought that about the above location - so much fae around there!
Aye, I can also familairise with the "all or nothing" theory. I feel like that alot, it is one of the mroe prominent Aries traits I posses, lol! Still, gradual progression is good for me - I just need to take it seriously and keep motivated. I know I should probably do yoga classes, that is probably the most dedicated and safe/beneficial way to learn - did you find it so? However I currently 1. am scared of classes (not entirely sure why) 2. picky about my surroundings. So finally having a quiet flat with roof space is rather soothing, but I guess I am limited to the simpler asanas. Which for now, is fine!
Your nephews sound fun - I love it when kids have an active imagination and share it with you. My friend's daughter Myfanwy is adorable for that - it is encouraging to see.
3 years is quite a while, you are due for a visit?
Tidying old clutter is very good for clearing one's headspace, I find. And sometimes surprising...
You're making me want to take a trip! Sadly, t'will be awhile (or not sadly, perhaps - they normally lay me off a few weeks a year and I've somehow talked them out of it this winter, so hooray for extra money). Lovely shots. It's a totally different world here - three feet or so of snow, and gigantic flakes falling from the sky as we speak.
How long does the darkness last there? It is an intriguing land...I hope to experience it someday :) And yay for real snow - I'll swap you for the brief thunderstorms we get! Though we don't normally get thunder during the winter. Last summer we had an amazing pink-purple-blue lightning storm - was truly beautiful to watch as it passed over us. Currently we're experiencing a very warm wet patch - the longest I recall for winter here. It is a little unnerving. Apparently we're due for frost next week so the already blossoming early spinr gflowers will have a shock....
Thanks, it was a refreshing trip - my first in many weeks. So far this Sunday is forecast as clear, so fingers crossed we'll get out again.
The darkness isn't so bad this far south. On the winter solstice we have about six and a half hours of daylight (conversely, on the summer solstice, we have over eighteen hours). Much farther north, say, at Barrow, things are quite different: the sun is up for eight-five days (about May 10 to Aug 2), and then down for sixty-seven days (from about Nov 18 to Jan 23); so they obviously have no light on the winter solstice and no darkness at the summer solstice
( ... )
That is strange indeed, I think like you - I'd prefer the winter months for a cycle. I espeically like to keep in touch with the moon, which is kind of impossible where I live now - damn light pollution. How do you find your body clock adapts to the seasons there?
Aye if only we both had the cash/right time to come out there. Thank you for the kind offer.
I need a real job first (one that allows me to save at least something ever yonce in a while for travel). I'm working on it, so to speak.
