Since when is seroquel a street drug?
I was watching Intervention and the girl mentioned she stole 25mg of seroquel from her boyfriend's dad in order to sleep. So that made me curious as to whether anyone thought seroquel was a street drug. And apparently google has told me that people do indeed buy seroquel for a high I guess similar to taking Xanax and whatnot. For those who don't know seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic used to treat bipolar mania and schizophrenia. I've been taking it for almost a year for my bipolar and 2 years for insomnia. 25mg for the insomnia and now 100mg for the bipolar stuff (used to be 200mg).
I don't really see why people would take this drug if they didn't have to. The "high" if you call it was only experienced on the first night. I only took 12.5mg and I felt like I had died. I fell asleep feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest and I was a total zombie the next day. It was insane. But the next night I was fine. It really does put you to sleep but it's not pleasurable. And taking higher doses doesn't really make you more tired than lower doses. It is habit forming I suppose. I need it to sleep. Without it I can't fall asleep. Why do you think I stayed up for 2 days straight this week. Idiot me forgetting to refill my Rx. And when you don't take it for a while you start to feel really weird: headaches, spaciness, feverish feeling. I actually just took my meds about 20 min. ago and am starting to feel the drug induced drowsiness. It's akin to the sudden sleepy feeling you get from taking nightime cold meds; not very natural.
Anyhoo, I'm going to go back reading smutty doctor who fics (lol, when am I not).
