So I went to go see Repo again tonight and it was even better. I was worried that not as many people were going to show up since there didn't see to be a lot of people in line. But by the time the movie started the theater was full. Before the movie the band leader (Darren Smith who is also one of the co-creators and wrote the music) led a bunch of people in costume (socal army members I think) down the aisles singing "We Started This Op'ra Shit". It was pretty amazing. Then 2 henchwomen, dressed perfectly, escorted Terrance Zdunich (Graverobber and co-creator) and Darren Bousman (director) up to the front where they introduced the film. This crowd was a lot more interactive with the movie so I'm really glad I went friday night too so I could watch the movie without a bunch of people yelling and cheering. I was cheering too this time btw.
After the movie they stayed and answered questions. Terrance got a lot of propositions from the ladies in the crowd and requests to get naked which he kind of smiled at demurely. Apparently we were the most sexualized crowd they had encountered. They talked about how difficult it was to make the movie. At first they couldn't get anyone to come to their test screenings. Then the studio re-advertised it as a horror film in the line of Bousman's other movies (Saw II, III, and IV). Mainstream America was pretty much duped into watching a goth opera. So yeah they got booed pretty badly and received one of the worst screen ratings, like 10% or something. They said below Gigli and Showgirls which made me laugh. Even our own paper gave it a dog rating which is below one star. But they didn't give up. They knew that their movie was not going to appeal to most people and that it should stay within it's targeted crowd. So it's been a grassroots movement to get the film into theaters.
We also found out that there will be a third Repo Road Tour and it will be in Southern California about 2 days before the dvd release. I will make it my mission to go! And if anyone else wants to go with me I would love that. I don't want to be all alone.
Ooh almost forgot that Terrance sang a verse or two and his voice is just as sexy in person. Is it wrong that I swoon. No? The more I watch the more I want to fangirl him (poor CKR, he may be replaced by the letters TZ).
After Q&A time
sandwich_armada and I made our way up to the front and I got pictures with them. They were all really nice. Darren Bousman was talking to another girl telling her how he started out in Hollywood. Apparently he once sent a cooler with his resume inside and a singing telegram just to get noticed.

On actual fandom related business I feel very scared and vulnerable. I admitted to a very vanilla ship (in a different fandom). My fringe shipper status hangs in the balance. So basically I need to read something fucked up. Like Pavi/Shilo/Luigi, cuz you know that would be all sorts of creepy and wrong. In the meantime I’ll keep thinking about Shilo/Graverobber. I swear it’s a curse. I can't watch anything without shipping people. It's the romantic in me.
For people who haven't seen it there is a clip from one of my favorite scenes in the movie on amazon.com (
link here The Pavi love is growing on me. If I had to rank them it would be Nathan/Repo Man, Graverobber, Pavi, lol.
I think that's all. If you've seen it tell me about it. I would love to hear what other people think about the film or if you haven't seen it why you want to see it.
