Several points of discussion

Here's what I've been pondering today:

Quick Overview
1. Cholera is an action star
2. The Painted Veil does awful things to my mind...like make it go crazy
3. just reaffirming that my mind is crazy (ooh crazy Sarah Connor icon)
4. Roman porn is hot
and for a conclusion sex and violence

1.) I think someone should make a movie on cholera. The disease has kind of become my new obsession. Which is frankly weird and gross. I blame The Painted Veil for my current strangeness. It's renewed my love of Asian History and apparently epidemiology. I'm reading The Ghost Map: The Story of London's Most Terrifying Epidemic - and How It Changed Science, Cities, and the Modern World (my god that is the longest title ever). Anyways it's about the 1854 cholera outreak in London and how Dr. John Snow discovered that it was contaminated water from a pump causing the illness. It reads like a good detective novel. I highly recommend it.

2.) My mind is constantly thinking in tangents so just by watching The Painted Veil I was led to do these following things: read the book that was the basis for the movie, reread my Asian History textbook, watch Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, watch Memoirs of a Geisha again (not Chinese but follows in my Asian theme), read Heart of Darkness (not Asian but does deal with Imperialism...like in the painted veil, sort of), reread Lord of the Flies (neither Asian or about Imperialism but does have forresty-jungle atmosphere like Heart of Darkness). Thus ends that line of thinking. The Painted Veil is also about cholera which led me to read The Ghost Map and to also borrow The Strange Case of the Broad Street Pump (about the same cholera outbreak in London) which is going to then make me want to read The Great Influenza (not cholera but also an infectious disease). I'm going to try to nip this one in the bud so I don't land up watching Outbreak (which I own) or something.

3.) I hate my mind sometimes. It makes me feel like Buster Bluth. An adult child who lives with her mother and keeps changing her major and interests at an alarming speed. No wonder I'm bipolar.

4.) I have finished marathoning Rome since I never saw season 2. I think it's had an effect on my libido. It's porn with an emmy worthy plot. Anyways I blame overdoses on the following men (all of whom have appeared naked in some form on the show thus leading to very lewd thoughts)

Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus
Pullo looks amazingly hot in a potato sack but Vorenus does not. His hotness needs to always wear his centurion uniform. Well, he did look very good in senator's robes too.

Mark Antony
I'm not really a fan of James Purefoy or his character but he was very pretty to look at sometimes. And I almost missed his full frontal because I was chatting with alissabobissa

Okay Brutus is not conventionally handsome. But his face was intriguing. I was always fascinated by it. And I don't remember him ever being naked. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Octavian was a piece of work. He was cute as a kid, very sharp and intelligent. And I do not deny his hotness as an adult. Is it wrong that I was turned on by his sadism. Actually with the show mixing so much violence with so much sex I am not surprised by this.

I'm thinking of maybe marathoning Deadwood next. More sex and violence. You know there's a song who's lyrics are "sex and violence" repeated over and over again. It's by The Exploited. It's definitely one of those songs that gets stuck in your head. you can hear the song here.

it's not tv it's hbo, cholera, books, deadwood, rome
