My fingers hurt. Since going on the Insulin Pump (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin_pump) {see first picture} I have been checking my blood sugar more often. This means poking my finger for blood more times a day. Typing hurts. I hope this discomfort - that of poking my fingers a lot and having this device attached to me are worth it.

If this treatment works for me my health could greatly improve. The other day I went to a doctor's appointment and sitting in the waiting room with other diabetics depressed the hell out of me. Granted they were all older than me, but they all looked terrible. It's like looking into a possible future and realizing there is no way I want to be there. So, for the last week I have been trying this new approach. It's too early to tell if it will vastly improve my control, but I think things will become clearer in the next month.

In other news, I finally had an interview for an I/O internship. This was one of those opportunities that I had given up on since initial contact was nearly 6 months ago and I hadn't heard anything after a few earlier emails. However, yesterday I went in for an interview. I sat in a room with four women - my possible future team. Everyone seemed nice and after the meeting I left knowing I wanted to work there. So, keep your fingers crossed for me!
