West Meets East

I was born in Portland, Oregon - the city of roses. I always loved where I lived and felt really lucky to have grown up in such a place. When I finally moved away for school I realized how much I had become accostomed to a certain way of life.

The pace in this west coast city is whatever you need it to be - though an East coast person would consider such a pace slow. The people are quite friendly and the language of nature, whatever that means, rules. I love this city.

I do not, however, regret moving away for the four years I was in Minnesota. Had it not been for this dire need to live somewhere else and spread my wings I may have never met Mike. I've had the luxury of seeing many of my old friends and many say I haven't really changed. I beg to differ. Perhaps my style of dress has remained unaltered, perhaps in part due to finances. I am not the same person I once was. None of us really are.

So, as I look ahead to yet another unpredictable year I can only wonder what other adventures life will bring. I too have a difficult time imaginging what it may be like living on the east coast. Though, I don't know it well enough to assume whether I could grow to like it - perhaps even love it. All I know is that I am very happy that Mike is with me on this wild journey.
