Please excuse the awful, awful quality of these pictures. I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong. I thought taking them outside would at least get rid of the blurriness, but apparently not. *sigh* How come my camera used to work but doesn't now?? >_You can't really tell the difference in these piccies (because they're crap ¬_¬), so I guess that ( Read more... )

The background is crips. So that means your camera can't zoom in that close. It's not a lighting problem, a lighting problem would cause grain in your picture.

You'll need to take a picture from further away to avoid the blurriness. I guess at least 30 cm away.

Crips?

I've taken close-ups before and they came out perfectly :(

I meant to type: crisp, but my brain decided otherwise.

If taking pictures from a larger distance doesn't work, you could try

- adjusting the shutter time (thought that doesn't seem the problem since the background is okay);
- adjust for lighting conditions?
- rtfm :)

lol I did think you meant crisp, but thought I'd better check ^^

So now... rtfm?? lol

No shutter time adjustment, and the camera is supposed to automatically focus in different lighting conditions. I had it on 'auto' so it's supposed to do it all for you in normal light. The outside pics I've taken before have come out wonderfully, but recently... Crap! I dunno, I really need to memorise that manual.

heya! i know, if you have a MACRO function, u need to use that for anything closer than say, 15cm. its a flower shape icon used in all cameras. so if you have that function, it should be easy to spot ^_^
