wow...the emoticons i picked for my journal are just silly. how *hungry* looks like that, i just don't understand...
but i digress!
i've been knitting like a fiend lately. i'm feeling the mad rush to finish things up for my niece who's due to be here any time now (and i think the unfurling of life all around me now that spring is firmly here is inspiring me to create.) after searching fruitlessly for months, i finally decided to come up with my own pattern for the bonnet (which is quite an undertaking for the novice i am!), and so far, it's going well...should be mighty cute. :)
today, i'm entering into phase II of my home decluttering work...sorting and listing extra/outgrown clothes & shoes, unneeded furniture, and miscellaneousness on freecycle; deciding what to try and sell/barter; organizing what we're keeping in a meaningful and useful way; fixing and sprucing up furniture that needs help; scrubbing sebby's mini murals off the walls; outside cleaning (picking up dog poo, weeding, mowing the grass, pruning trees, dealing with our compost pile, etc...)
needless to say, phase II threatens to take up a bit of time...but i promise to only work on those projects a little each day. :)
eve's really been enjoying her new ballet class (started the week before last, going once a week on wednesdays.) it's costing us a pretty penny for sure, but the look on her face as she gets dressed up and prances around in her fancies is priceless. she's the oldest girl in her very small class, she loves her teacher (a really sweet teen) and is just learning so much (though she won't indulge us in a show at home yet!) it's been fun for me too...we get to walk there and back together, just us two monkeys, and i have an hour to just sit and read or knit or chat with the other parents, which is nice.
i found out that they have a creative movement class for young kids (3-5), so i offered to lila that she could take a class with other little girls like her this fall (if you know lila, you know she never stops dancing!)...she promptly started *shakin' her booty* as she calls it and was all excited. then she stopped suddenly, shot a very serious look at me, and said, *but i am too shy!* lol. i don't know where she comes up with this crap!! :)
on a completely different note, i had a dream last night that we successfully started up a community with all of our beloved friends and family. it was really nice to see everyone (even if it was just my imagination...)
have i mentioned lately that i miss you all??
ok...enough procrastinating...i'm off to create some sort of edible something for breakfast!
