Been reading quite a lot lately. As that was one of the promises I made to myself before starting this year.
And haven’t talked about it here, that was one of the promisses I made to myself as well when I opened this LJ account. Wanted to show what I’m reading, and how I’m enjoying it.
Middle of last month I read
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and he deserves every award he got, including the Newbery. It’s a wonderful and sweet story with a great setting. Chapter one was a bit disturbing, and hard compared to the other ones but as soon as Bod is accepted to the Owens family and the graveyard, story was smooth and I read it in a couple of days. Couldn’t put it down.
Silas character will be forever with me, even if he really doesn't talk much. He is the kind of mentor I'd love to have for my characters, but my mentors seem to always get in the middle and become too talkative.
So, if you haven't grabbed a copy of it yet... what are you waiting for?
These last couple of days been reading
sarah_prineas The Magic Thief. It was a wonderful experience, I had to share with all of you.
Sarah uses language and images in a way she kept my mouth full open during the whole time I was reading. I absolutely loved the fresh images she used, and how she pulled the readers to her world.
A thing stuck me as odd, but it was explained at the end of the book. If you want to know why main hero and main villain share so much similarities in their names, you'll have to go and read the book.L
