As a marshal I have asked pointed questions like "Well, was it good or not?" "Did that hurt? cause it looked like it hurt." Some times the tactful is everything ok Cause you seem to be missing a lot of calls.
The only way to get a rhino to stop is to let them know that you and every one else knows that they are cheating.
Yes, but as a marshal, you have that option and, in the case of hard hits, obligation. I remain just me and the one person I asked was standing in a different location and did not see things from the same angle. Had the A questioned the acceptance of her shots, I'd have spoken up. But otherwise, I'm told the guidelines demand that I not interfere.
Not to be facetious, but do you really see me as MIT material? Especially since, in addition to marshaling matches and acting as a sort of referee, part of the requirement is to teach fencing. You've seen me fence. Do you really want me teaching others?
What about being able to fence well enough to conduct an authorization, etc.? And I don't know that I've seen an MIT who doesn't jump in eagerly to teach all they know whether they know it or not.
If I could be an MIT without being expected to teach actual fencing (explaining safety, rules, etc. is fine), it would be something I'd consider. I'm well aware of my limitations. I understand the rules and the safety measures. And, on occasion, under duress, I have explained (or "taught") something that was previously explained to me (but with the caveat that the person should speak to someone more skilled and knowledgeable at the first opportunity - like Luka and cloak..... I pointed him to Rian).

Right there is one major problem Way to many people equate marshal with teacher. Marshals are a layer of the safety system.
As far as being good enough to run an auth, the training of an MIT takes care of that.
