Yeah, I agree completely with that. Halloween was the best precisely because it gave us stuff to do...but other than that, there's a reason why Badou, Halle and Garrus were pretty much the most popular and awesome-inducing characters there. They had stuff to do, reasons to start the stuff that kept the game interesting. I think the DN cast was going pretty strong for a while there as well, because the characters were always meant for the careful cat-and-mouse game relationships AP inspired. Keeping Allen busy was almost impossible, because I had to focus solely on relationships, and...just didn't work. He's not very romantic in canon so that was pretty much out except for a slight crush (which was pushing it as it was), and even though he tries to befriend everyone he can he's always at a distance, so to speak, from them. Plus, he's so focused on salvation for akuma and defeating the Earl that he just doesn't function very well being cooped up in one place for long without making any progress (one of the manga arcs explored this). I wish I could have continued to develop some of the relationships he had with Souseiseki, X-23, Winry, Osaka and Zelos, but...it wouldn't have worked very well in that environment.

Mmm, yeah. You could manage it with him, though, I think...Dr. Horrible is a flexible enough character to allow that kind of development.

I know! Roleplaying Allen as a ghost (he's terrified of them in canon) was so much fun. XD

I didn't really keep up with what the DN cast was doing until the proverbial shit hit the fan, and I really regret not doing that because it was played out pretty darn well and had lasting repercussions that persisted for a rather long time.

Yeah... being cooped up in the asylum works for some characters, but the game really needed something to do other than the holiday events. I can understand the mods' frustration at having some of the characters with the jewelry drop, but they also should have planned a way around it or found a new way for them to tell their story. Relying entirely on us to entertain ourselves was kinda... meh.

Mmm-hmm! I did the same, and sincerely regretted it afterwards for those same reasons.

Yeah, I think they should have had some foresight where that was concerned. Things happen, people drop...but not being able to move past that just doesn't work.
