S.N.A.P.E. Winners!
The Society for Nonsensical ArtPad Enthusiasts is pleased to announce the winners of January’s
S.N.A.P.E. contest.
A drum roll please…
The Grand Prize Winner and recipient of the Ouf Award goes to
_grainne_ for
Blindsided!. Ever see something that makes you laugh so hard you almost wet your pants? Well, let’s just say, after seeing Blindsided!, I know the feeling. (And the little bird just kills me-lol!)
The award for Best Putdown, or the English Creampuff Award, goes to
jen_deben for
Paris. I never dreamed anyone could be more disdainful than Severus Snape; now I know better.
The Stealth Award goes to
sylvanawood for
Victoria!Snape. I think
_grainne_ said it best in her comment on this little masterpiece: “Now no one can accuse Snape of being low man on the totem pole!”
Best Original Costume goes to
sneaky_rhae for
Snape at the Alamo, which proves to us that Snape doesn’t have to wear black to win our hearts!
jen_deben also receives an Honorable Mention and the Hot Snape Award for
Giza. The greasy hair, the beads of sweat, the miles and miles of sand…who knew Snape could be so hot? :-D
Awesome job, guys! I had fun viewing all of your entries again and again over the last month. I’ll definitely revisit them anytime I need some laughter in my life!
_grainne_, I look forward to seeing your plans for this next month’s contest. And, of course, if any of the winners is interested in the promised fan fiction written by yours truly (though you’re not obligated to accept, of course), please e-mail me via the contact link on
my Occlumency author page (so I don’t have to show my e-mail address here).
And for those of you who had problems with ArtPad, here are some tips from
sylvanawood for taking a screenshot:
The way to at least preserve the image before it gets eaten is to make a screenshot. You can use screenshots whenever an image refuses to be saved (some programmers block the save as option).
You press 'alt' and the 'print' or 'hardcopy' button (right hand side, just above the key block with insert, delete, home, page up etc.) -- it's the button on the left of this three-button block. I don't have a US keyboard, so don't quite remember what it says on that button. Anyway, you hit those two keys. Then you open paint -- it's under 'applications or tools' in your programs menue.
There you click on the main window and hit 'ctrl-v'
Voila, the content of your screen, including the image you wanted to save shows up. Now you chose the select tool and now can select the area you're after (the image) and copy it. (edit - copy or ctrl-c).
You save the original with all the surroundings, just in case, and then open a new window in paint. There you say edit-paste (ctrl-v) -- and now you have the image you want. You can now save that as a gif or jpg file and upload this to photobucket to share it with us.

If you have a Mac, like me, you just use 'Grab', which makes high quality screen shots very easy.
