Valhalla General Plot Outline (CONTAINS SPOILERS)
From end to beginning:
- The earth is reborn, and humans, because of Tessa's sacrifice, are given a second chance. "Valkyries" are chosen to protect the earth.
- Tessa throws herself from Capitan Cliff, offering herself as a sacrifice to show dedication to restarting the earth from new.
- The group hikes for two or three weeks to reach the summit of El Capitan.
- The night after activating the Valhalla "machine", Tessa finds the courage to admit her feelings for Shelly. They spend the trek up to El Capitan in blissful love.
- Tessa speaks to the machine, where it details how it works to her. She must sacrifice herself in order to trigger the machine. She must be willing to give her life to bring life back to the earth. She is marked by the machine; the markings/tattoos hold the power to trigger the machine.
- Five members of the group, each on the road to mastering an individual element, combine their talents to access Valhalla. Tessa is the first, and only, to step into the machine.
- The group travels through the caverns of King's Canyon until they reach a vast room with markings of each element. Markings connect each symbol; using their elements, they activate their symbol.
