I can't tell you how happy I am that the FDA is finally banning ephedra. That stuff can kill you.
I remember this one time I was at work and had taken one, for the hell of it (before I knew I had super-fast heart issues). At first, it felt fine. Very peppy. Then, I started having hot flashes. Then intense nausea & dizziness, with every joint in my body aching. I went really pale, and my skin was all clammy. Breathing hurt. I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest, it was beating so fast. I finally had to call a friend who generously picked me up from work early, and I forced myself to lay down and rest. I fell asleep really fast (although I don't know how) and woke up a few hours later feeling better. If I had known the risks associated with the stuff, I never would've tried it. I'm damn lucky I didn't end up in the hospital that day. What a lousy experience.
Thank goodness now that they've banned it no one will have to find out the hard way how risky that stuff is. Then again, surely they will find other ways to make stupid decisions.
Christmas was fun- Talin got his first computer and guitar. We broke out his guitar, my guitar and the drum Lisa gave him for his birthday and jammed today. He's destined to be musically inclined, thank gods. At least he has good taste!
I need sleep. Just wanted to get this down somewhere.
