IC Information:
Name: Luna Maximoff
Fandom: Marvel Comics
Timeline: Earth-616, post Mighty Avengers 32
Age: 7
Appearance: Small even for a child, Luna stands at three feet ten inches, and weighs only forty-eight pounds. Her hair is blond and long, worn down for the most parts past her shoulders, though she's often seen with several braids added into the mix. She has bright blue eyes, and is a very slight little girl. Luna often dresses in the brightly colored outfits that are common amongst her people, mostly dresses, though she's also seen wearing skintight full body suits with beautiful designs.
Abilities: Though born a normal child, Luna was strictly tutored in swordfighting and academics. Despite this, at age 7, her sword fightings still pretty clumsy and she's not exactly a genius. Most of her abilities didn't come to her until one day, when she was 6, her father exposed her to her mother's peoples magical mists. These mists blessed her with supernatural abilities stronger than any 6 year old girl should ever posses.

Basically, her powers allow her to focus in on a person and sense their emotions, and then manipulate said emotions if she chooses to do so. She's also able to access peoples minds and remove any mental barriers that may have been keeping them from using their own supernatural powers. She's also been able to remove painful memories or feelings from other people. Her powers are linked to her vision, and when she's sensing a person's emotions, she sees them in colors rather than just knowing automatically what they're feeling.

The downside of this, are that her powers are too great and too strong for her. Her surroundings are constantly overwhelming to her, and when she first acquired her powers, she had to wear sunglasses all the time because the sensation of seeing things was too powerful for her. She's seemed to build up a resistance so she doesn't have to wear the sunglasses anymore, but she still struggles with being in large crowds of people, or being somewhere that's too bright. Also, because her powers were created thanks to the mists, she will display some of the symptoms of drug withdrawal over the first few days she's away from them.
Personality: Raised as a member of the Inhuman's royal family, Luna appears very reserved and polite at first appearances. She's not the type of girl to speak her mind. She knows that children should be seen, not heard. She's very mature for her age, and doesn't consider herself to be a child. In canon, she's seen fighting against an instructor, telling herself 'I'm six now. I'm no longer a child'. She keeps quiet, and hovers behind her mother or behind Lockjaw for the most part, letting her mother do the speaking.

Luna has a hard time making her own choices. She finds it easier to go with whatever the adults in her life tell her to do, than to make her own decisions. She has an extremely hard time saying 'no', and will listen to adults and do whatever she's asked to, even if deep down she knows it might be wrong. She's overly trusting of the people around her. She knows that the universe is full of bad people, but she doesn't think that anyone in her inner circle would ever ask her to do something wrong. As a result, she's often getting herself into bad situations.

It's important not to mistake that part of her personality as cold though. Luna actually is a really happy little girl. She loves her mother and father with all of her heart. She likes to play games with her cousin, and she wants to help people as much as she can. She's shown rebelling against authority in only a few cases- such as when she hurries to her father's defense, throwing her body over his and disobeying her uncle and king.

She warms up much faster to other children than she does adults, and is fairly accepting of those around her. She interacts easily with alien species, and doesn't bother with superficial things. She understands the people around her and their feelings because of her powers, and because of this, she sees no reason to cause harm to others. Luna is honest, always keeping her word, and innocent, worrying often about hurting others. Even when training for war, she worries about harming her opponent, and carefully chooses her moves so she won't end up spilling blood.

Probably because of her honesty, Luna has a hard time accepting people who do bad things. She holds a grudge, and thinks that liars are the worst. She even tells her father she'll never love him the same again, knowing that he deceived everyone. Luna hasn't quite figured out how to forgive people for anything, instead holding anger towards anyone who wrongs her for her entire life. She has a somewhat black and white view of the world that she struggles with often. Her childhood raised her to be the absolute perfect little girl, and Luna often can't find it within herself to forgive her own mistakes.

A combination of her powers and her silence, Luna has become a very observant child. Sensing other people's feelings has made her know exactly what to say and when. She's very tactful, and sometimes comes off as overly intelligent, but it's actually just her abilities telling her what to say.
History: Luna was born the first of her kind- an inhuman, mutant hybrid. The daughter of the mutant Quicksilver, and the Inhuman princess Crystal, her high powered genes canceled each other out and left her powerless. As an infant, she was beloved by everyone around her, but life on earth was dangerous. She was kidnapped at least one time, and eventually, relations between her parents and their respective people grew so tense that Luna and her mother left the Avengers and earth, and went to go live with the Inhumans on the moon. It was there that Luna was raised as a member of the royal family (her mother's sister is the queen) trained in sword fighting, and tutored in academics. She didn't have much of a childhood, and she missed her father, but it wasn't a bad life.

Everything changed when one day, when she was six, her father showed up on the moon. He was depowered, and wanted to use the Inhuman's magical mists to revive his mutant powers. Luna, completely captivated with her father, goes right along with him. The result were powers unlike anything she had ever imagined having before, and she ended up wrecking havoc on Earth with them. After a few days, her Inhuman family came to retrieve her, and she was taken back to the moon, only to find out there that her father had stolen the crystals that created the mists. Luna then helped her aunt and uncle track her father down on Earth, where they found, much to everyones horror, that he had embedded the crystals inside of himself. When her uncle went to kill him, she hurls herself inbetween the two, preventing her father from being killed.

Later on, Luna is shown wanting to participate in battle. She argues with her mother that she can fight and that she wants to protect her people, but her mother leaves her under her aunts care, stating that she is still too young. While her mother and uncle are away, she frees her uncle's brother, Maximus, and her cousin Ahura from their mental prisons. She can sense the evil in Maximus, and the evil that he has put in others minds, but tells him that she will not fight him. She then watches on with her family as the Inhumans fight, visibly distressed as she senses who is about to die and when. After the Inumans successful victory, she retreats to her uncle, the king Black Bolt's room, and apologizes to him for 'letting the evil out'. She then begs Black Bolt to help her, because she doesn't know what to do- but is answered by silence.

During the Secret Invasion storyline, her people are attacked by the aliens Skrulls, Luna included. Black Bolt and Ahura are kidnapped and replaced by Skrull counterparts, and her mothers sister Medusa is left as the queen. During this event, the Inhumans go to war, and ally themselves with the Kree, and Luna's mother is married to a Kree man. Luna is seen playing with both a Kree child, and with her cousin Ahura throughout the event, but does not play a major role. Eventually, Black Bolt and Ahura are returned to her people, and her father takes advantage of this to claim that he never actually stole the crystals, but it was actually a Skrull disguised as him. He returns the crystals to Luna's people, and he is forgiven, and regiven citizenship as an Inhuman. But when Luna is brought forth to what should be a happy reunion, she can see her fathers emotions. She tells him then that she knows that there was never a Skrull, and that she knew it was just him all along. Despite this, Luna tells her father that she will keep his secret, but that she'll never respect him again, and that every time he looks at her, he will have to remember what he did.

Roleplay Sample - Log: (canon setting) The first few days home had been miserable. Though the bright, vibrant light and brilliant colors of Earth had no place on the moon, she was still wearing the sunglasses her father had bought her out of habit. She'd spent the past few days curled up in her bed with Lockjaw, her face buried in his fur, her arms wrapped around him as far as they would go. She had been so angry at him before, for taking her to her mother. She had been furious, beat on the giant dog with her tiny hands, cried and called him a stupid mutt. But he was the only one who had been with her the entire time, the only one who understood what had happened, and at times, it felt the only one who loved her. He was a big stupid (and by stupid, she meant frustrating, not anything about his intelligence) drooly mutt that was five times her size, but she loved him anyway. And she could tell he loved her too, just by taking a look into him, and seeing the soft magenta color she associated with familial love.

Her mother was a different story. Other than the healers and her mother, no one had come to see her at all. And when her mother came into the room, she didn't see the same color she saw in Lockjaw.

The doorknob jiggled, and Luna sat upright in bed, startling the giant beast at the foot of her bed off of it. The door opened, and a woman shining with the ice blue color that meant fear entered the room. Luna didn't smile.

"Hello, Mother."
Roleplay Sample - Journal: Hello, this is Luna again. I hope I'm not bothering anyone with this, or making any mistakes. I really hate it when I mess up. Momma gets mad and Auntie and Uncle frown, and it's just really uncomfortable and bad. Not that they're here to be mad or frown at me.

I miss Lockjaw. He's my best friend, and I'm real real worried about him right now. Mother's very busy, so, who will remember to take him on walks, and scratch him behind his ears, or tell him stories? He's a very smart person, so I'm not too worried about him, but I miss him very much. I said that already, didn't I? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to--

I'm new to this writing thing. I don't like it. I miss home.
This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function? Despite being only a little girl, Luna's been exposed and hardened to the harsh realities of life. The inhumans raised her to be distant and powerful, and she had very little time to be a child. She was expected to be strong. Because of this, I think that Luna will adapt to a lifestyle full of horrors much easier than any other 7 year old girl would. The constant almost verbally abusive conflict between the two races she descended from have played on her mind for as long as she can remember, and she's already grown cold and distant to certain problems and family members. Luna won't adapt right away, but she'll adapt a lot easier than others might. It'll take a toll on her development and scar her, but she has survival skills. Luna will survive through all of this. Especially with a few members of her family around, and the sort of new family she'll inevitably build with other characters in the game.
