Watched it. Loved it (most of it). Rewatched it (most). Still loved it. XD
I liked the beginning. Merlin actually surprised me with deciding on calling the dragon for help with Agravaine's men. I am tickled pink. :D I love me some badass Merlin! :) He'd do anything for Arthur wouldn't he?
Speaking of, one of my wishes came true! Merlin got to kill Agravaine! I know it's bad to wish death on anyone, but I think this is an exception. Agravaine let his want of power go to his head and went so far as to wanting his own nephew dead (of course I guess that sort of thing was common in those days..?). The whole thing of Agravaine finding out about Merlin and the exchange they had was more than I had hoped for.
Uncle Aggy: You--you have magic!
Merlin: *looking badass* I was born with it.
Aggy: You're Emrys, aren't you!?
Merlin: That's what the druids call me.
Aggy: You've been at court, by Arthur's side, all this time!
Yes, Uncle Aggy, and you're SOL. XD
Aggy: We're more alike that you think....
Uh, NO. Merlin is nothing like you! And he proves it by killing the bastard for even daring to hurt Arthur. You go, magic man!!
The A/M love was shining through in this episode! :D Arthur being worried for Merlin, and trying to deny it later. Yup, such boys. <3
I really really loved the way Merlin and the Great Dragon were together. Merlin thanking him, but the dragon saying he did it because Albion was in danger. Yes, if that's what will make you feel better, Kilgharrah baby. XD
Their relationship makes me think of this:
(There really needs to be a fic....)
I loved the whole sword in the stone bit. Merlin making Arthur believe in himself by pulling out the sword. Marvelously done, Merl. :)
But when I saw Arthur holding the sword aloft, I couldn't help but think:
"By the power of Greyskull!"
I liked how they got the castle back, but honestly, who didn't see the bright red-caped people sneaking to one side of the citadel? XD
It makes me think of this vid:

The only thing I didn't care for much was the whole crowning of the new queen. I was a little underwhelmed by it. I was like "*sigh*.... is it over yet?"
And of course Isolde's death. Seriously, show? That's how you helped get Arthur and Gwen back together? Seriously?
Overall, though, I enjoyed it. I would not mind watching it again (but skipping some of the A/G bits that just had me shaking my head...although it wasn't as bad as last season).
Now they can focus on the magic reveal for the next series, yes?
eta: forgot to mention, the last scene with Morgana and Aithusa? I was all WTF at first, but now that I think about it I'm sure that the little dragon had no idea who Morgana was. He just saw that she was injured and decided to help out. No harm there, yeah? XD
