Man, so many great things to remember about the newest episode.
ETA: Added more pics in with the review.
I really enjoyed it! The beginning was very slashtastic! I mean come on: Arthur not wearing trousers, turning Merlin around toward the table, and then having a belt in his hands....
Loved how Merlin said "Kingly". Cracks me up every time I hear him say it.
Merlin: "Imagine something pleasant..." (Really, Merlin? And what pleasantness did you have in mind for your king to be thinknig about?)
Arthur: "You in the stocks...?" ("--with your trousers around your ankles and your arse in the air..?")
Yes, let's just say Arthur's put on some extra padding. Nice, Merlin.
Arthur: "... my favorite!" (Merlin just knows how to please his king, doesn't he?)
Merlin: "Careful or you'll add another hole to that belt." (LOL!!)
Percy: *chokes on drink* (Where's his mind going?)
Of course Arthur notices Agravaine not there. Hmm, very suspicious there, yes. And it shows Arthur missing Gwen. Well, it is your own stupid fault, Arthur. *sighs*
The attack from Agravaine obviously involves slow-mo action with burning things.
And speaking of, did anyone else think Hogan's Heroes when Agravaine used the torch to signal to Morgana?
How badass was it for Gaius and Gwaine to stay while they took Arthur to safety?
And about Arthur... and Merlin making him more of less a willing slave.... I'm not sure how I feel about it. Merlin even seemed surprised by how easily he could do it. Is this the beginnings of the Imperio curse? XD
Arthur to Merlin: I'm entirely in your hands.
Yes, this is what us slashers want to hear.... yes? XD And the look Merlin gave Arthur, as if he thought about it. lol! I forsee such stories popping up from this little interesting spell Merlin did.
I loved this scene:
Merlin making a little kissy face at him (or was he whistling softly to get his attention?) and then taking his hand! ♥ Arthur's apparently looking for woodworms! XD
I really don't know what to say right now about how Arthur acts in Merlin's power. I mean, is it Arthur's subconscious talking? Is there anything real in what Arthur is saying and doing during it? Or is it just whatever makes Arthur a prat disappearing? Or maybe it's just how a person is when their will isn't their own? So many things to ponder on this. I'm sure others have talked about it in better detail than I can right now.
(Overall, I'm okay with it, mostly because Merlin was rather sweet with taking care of Arthur, and he was doing it in an emergency to save Arthur's life)
Then of course, there's Tristan and Isolde. Who were awesome, badass, and all that. XD Merlin's reaction to seeing Isolde for the first time, even when she had a sword at his back: *_* (How much do I adore Tristan/Isolde?! LOTS.
And of course, Merlin was just wonderful in this episode. He got to be in charge for a while, and show some badassery, even when Arthur came to his senses and they used crossbows together. Then their usual fireside talk, and Arthur's angst about his family hating him, etc. I liked all of that.
I do have to say that it's about damn time Arthur discovered the truth about Agravaine. Even if it was rather late... and of course Arthur even suspected that Merlin knew. Of course Merlin just told him that he suspected Agravaine. I can't recall, but Merlin did know about him yes? So he just said that to soften things? Arthur didn't want to listen anyway, despite Merlin saying to him before to listen more. *sigh*
Can't forget how awesome Gwaine was, wanting to help Gaius. Even though he's hungry too, he is able to fight well and win a moldy piece of bread. My god, Morgana's such a witchy poo.
Let's not forgot the best part of this episode:
HUNITH!
I've been waiting to see her again! :)
Let's not forget:
Overall, I really enjoyed this episode.
CANNOT WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK FOR THE FINALE! I'm so excited!
