Okay, it's been a bit late in coming, but finally was able to watch Merlin last night (or evening... it was about when I got home). Since I really enjoyed this episode I will go further in my reaction entry than I had in others before. :)
Warning: besides spoilers, there be videos within, and most likely gifs.
OMFG.
Let's forget the weird robber for a second (he ain't no King of Theives, that's for darn sure!)....
Okay, so, now instead of Arthur being shirtless we get to see him with his trousers off, again, and ALL THANKS TO MERLIN. How is this show NOT homoerotic? I ask you; I mean, seriously. Of course, what's up with Merlin's excuse of woodworm? I'm sure he's read about them in one of Gaius' books, but still. Yes, Merlin, that's all you were doing in Arthur's bed, trying to find WOODworm.
Let's look at that word for a moment. Wood. Worm. Thinking dirty thoughts yet? Yeah, thought so. Arthur's got your woodworm all right, Merlin
The Arthur/Merlin moments in this. I can't even.
They need to just get them into a bath together already. Honestly, they need to do something like this:
Except more manly, or something.
The way Merlin finally got the key from Arthur... HO-ma-GAWD. And those he was in council with... those old guys? They barely moved a muscle to even help Arthur, and they didn't even do anything. Honestly, does stuff like that happen often enough that they just decide to ignore it? AND THE LEGS IN THE AIR. HAD ME IN HYSTERICS!
Okay, I have a bit of a cold so I might not remember everything I was going to write about so please bear with me if I go all over the place.
How much can I say I love it how Merlin has got so used to riding a horse? The noises he makes to get the horse going, always gets ME going. XD
Oh, those knights. Merlin makes them such yummy stew, and they even complement Merlin on it! And then they just eat it all... which is a slight plot point, really, because Merlin is lucky not to get any next time he eats and get knocked out like the others. Still, they thank Merlin for the delicious stew and then give him the empty bowls for him to wash. XD What is he now, the wife of all of them? They're teasing him, I get it, but still. You'd think Gwaine would be a little nicer, but I guess getting together with the other knights makes one behave differently (the whole going with the group thing)? I'm sure they do appreciate Merlin, though, and they're just taking the mickey.
The whole knights/king, etc thing made me think of a bit from Mystery Science Theatre 3000... I couldn't find just the bit, I'm sorry. So, you'll need to start the vid from 8.14 I believe.

(And crap, again, you'll have to watch the last part of that bit on part 5.... anywho)
This episode also puts another thing to mind: Jane and the Dragon. It's actually a good show, even if it's for kids. Seriously, it's good. The episode that this Merlin ep. has reminded me of is this one: (I'm posting the link to part 3/3, and it's the only one I found on youtube, so sorry for the quality)

The color of the egg is even correct.
And how hot was it when Merlin was being all protective of the egg? Admitting to that theif that he was a dragonlord. Merlin was also the first to touch the egg, so is there an imprint there now? Does the dragon think of Merlin as hers?
And yes, I said it. Her. I mean, come on. The name sounds like it belongs to a girl. Doesn't it? And the dragon being a girl, how cool is that? Aithusa sounds like a girl's name, yes? And would it not be cool if once the baby is old enough it could be Kilgharrah's mate and they could make more baby dragons? :) And why is there not fic of this yet?
I really liked that Gaius knew that Merlin had lied to him about the egg. I loved it. Of course, if the egg perished Merlin would be crying, right?
That whole scene at the end was pure win. Merlin naming the dragon, hatching it (he's a mommy!), and it being the symbol of a new Albion that Arthur and Merlin will build together. If that's not a married with children life I don't know what is.
And that's all I got right now. Ugh, I want to just sleep and sleep when I get home.
