I need to know if in Britian one can get an English Major (a degree), or if it's just called a BA in Journalism, or what. I need to know for my fic before I post it. :) Thanks!

Yep, you can - I have a BA in English. Usually journalism on its own would be an MA after you get your English (or other) degree.

Would one say "English Major"? Or should I change it to BA/MA? Or English degree?

Nope, here we just usually say 'English degree' in conversation.

It's a long time since I was at Uni, but to my knowledge we still don't use the term "Major" in this country, because we don't have the concept to the same extent. I did a Maths degree; within that I could choose between many different aspects of Maths, but if anyone had suggested I should suddenly start studying - I dunno - English, or Physics or something as well, I would have been very surprised indeed. My son wants to do Computer Science, and he may be able to choose to specialise in Networks, or Programming, or whatever, but it's all computing. There is no expectation that he will study - or they will offer - a totally unrelated subject as well (which is what I assume is meant by 'minor'.)
