Go here for all the parts.

Annie turned on the lamp by the wall and set her jacket and purse onto the chair next to it. Sam shut the door behind him, smiling and feeling good from both the alcohol and the fact that he had finally done the deed and asked Annie out. At the last minute, he locked the door, and then placed his key on top of his bed’s headboard.

“I’ve always liked your place, Sam,” she said, turning toward him.

“Oh yeah?” said Sam, stepping up close to her and taking her hands in his. “Why’s that?”

“I don’t know,” she said, getting really close. He leaned his head down, foreheads touching. “I think it’s rather cozy,” she whispered.

“I suppose it is,” he whispered back. “But the wallpaper is atrocious.”

Annie laughed, and then sobered almost immediately from the look in Sam’s eyes. He leaned in more, tilting his head, and softly kissed her. She closed her eyes with a flutter when he swept his mouth over hers gently, and then deepened it when she opened her mouth more to him, accepting him, accepting his tongue. Sam pressed her body against his, his hands flat and possessive on her back. She brought her arms up around his shoulders and ran her fingers through his short hair.

Reluctantly, Annie pulled away. Sam stared at her, wanting nothing more than to continue touching and tasting her, but he knew that she was hungry and he promised her dinner. If he were to get on with making it, he needed to start now; there was always time for snogging later.

“I better start dinner.”

“Okay,” she said softly, a little breathless.

They stared at each other for a while, and then finally Sam moved away and walked to his kitchen. He had to lean against the counter and will his erection away before getting out the things he needed to start dinner. He wanted to make her something special. It was, in a way, their first date. Then again, they were technically going steady now, so did they really need to go on dates? He couldn’t remember the last time he’d actually went straight to going steady without at least one or two dates first. Best he could probably do was just ask her what she thought.

First, he had to get started on food, so he rolled his sleeves up to his elbows, washed his hands, and then put on his apron. He was thankful that it was a plain colored one too, and not something with flowers on it. He got his skillet out, put the fire under it, and then took out the vegetables.

“All right, then?” Annie asked.

“I’m good,” said Sam, smiling back. “Just making sure that I have everything…” He rummaged at the bottom of the crisper, and then took out everything he was looking for. Then he took out some of the utensils that he’ll need, including one big knife.

“I’ll just sit at the table and watch,” she grinned.

Sam blushed, keeping his eyes on what he was doing, and smiled to himself. He chopped some green peppers while he thought about what to say. Now would be a good time to ask about their situation, he supposed.

“So,” he finally said. “Is this a date, or are we passed that?”

“Hmm,” she said, sounding as if she were smiling. “I guess we’re passed dating. Unless you want this to be a date, I don’t mind.”

“I was just wondering,” Sam said quickly, “because I asked you to go steady, you know… well, I asked you to go out, but… I mean, do you still want to go on dates, or…”

“It’s up to you, Sam. I don’t mind. If you want to take me out on a few dates, I’d be glad to.”

Sam found himself grinning, and finally he was able to look over at her. Their eyes met, and he could feel his heart speed up; she was looking at him with what could definitely be considered love. Sam hoped it wasn’t just a trick of the light.

“You’re so cute in your apron,” she finally said, a twinkle replacing the softness in her eyes.

Sam ducked his head, his cheeks hurting from how hard he was smiling. “Thanks.”

He wasn’t sure how it started exactly, but he soon found himself without a shirt and socks. Annie was smiling at him, bare feet wiggling enticingly on top of his and her earrings set aside on the table.

“Your deal,” she said sweetly, smiling.

Sam shuffled the cards as best he could before dealing out five cards each. He set the rest aside, then picked his cards up. He had two queens, a two, an ace, and an eight. They were all red, too, so he had a choice to make: did he discard his one queen and try for another heart, or should he stick with his two queens and hope for another one to give him a three of a kind?

Annie raised her eyes to meet his, a wicked smile on her face. She either had a really good hand or she was bluffing. He decided to risk it, so he discarded his queen of diamonds in hopes to get another heart. Annie also discarded only one card, so that meant she was also trying for a flush or she was close to having a straight.

He gave her one card, and then one for himself. He watched her pick up her one card first and waited for her reaction. She had the perfect poker face. Swallowing hard, he picked up his one card, praying for the right suit.

It was another queen.

He felt like screaming, but he held himself in check. He picked up his hand and tried his best to act like it was just the card he was looking for. If Annie was bluffing, then at least he had two queens to bet on.

“You in?” he said once he knew his voice wouldn’t betray him.

“Yes,” she said, her own voice steady. She put in a fiver.

Sam thought hard. He could bluff. Yeah, that was a good idea. He put in five and then raised it five more. He grinned at her, waiting to see what she’d do. Annie grinned back and added another five to the pot.

“All right, let’s see what you’ve got, mister.”

“Maybe I’ll want to raise again.”

“And risk losing more than just your shirt?” she laughed. “Okay, go ahead.”

Sam raised again without hesitation.

“Call,” said Annie, seeing his raise.

Sam sighed. Oh well, might as well get it over with. He showed her his hand, and then looked at her hopefully. Annie was fighting a smile as she put her own cards down.

She had four tens. Sam sighed, annoyed with himself. Even if he did get the flush, she still would have beaten him.

“Come on, then,” she said, eyes shining as she stared at him. “Take it off.”

Now he couldn’t fight off a laugh as he slipped off his belt and dropped it to the floor on top of his shirt. “You do know that this isn’t fair; you’ve got more clothing than I do.”

“I thought you were good at this game,” she said, almost smugly.

“Oh, just… piss off,” he said without any venom. Annie giggled.

After a couple more hands, Sam was left in only his underpants and Annie had lost her shirt. Sam had to admit that it was a good idea to play strip poker because he finally got to see her in just a bra. It was a very lovely bra as well; white and lacy, with a little flower in the middle. It was old style to Sam, but it really worked on her.

“Looks like I’m winning,” she said, smirking in a very un-Annie like way. It was kind of a turn on, actually.

“So, what are you going to do to me once you’ve gotten me naked?” Sam smiled almost wickedly. He hoped he liked the answer.

She blushed. It made Sam smile even wider. He liked making her speechless.

Annie dealt out the cards to what could be the final run. At the moment, Sam didn’t care if he lost now; he was looking forward to what she’d do once he was stripped of his underwear.

As luck would have it, Sam won a hand, so Annie had to take something off this time. He watched her as she slipped out of her skirt and set it on top of Sam’s clothes. He got a good look at her white knickers before she sat down again. They were lacy too.

“Guess it’s not over yet.”

“Guess not,” she said, dealing out the cards. “Want to make it more interesting?”

“How?” he asked.

Annie grinned. “If I lose this time, I’ll take both my bra and knickers off.”

Sam couldn’t help smiling at that thought. “I’ll take that bet.”

Annie leaned in closer, “Also, there’s that one thing you promised me you’d tell me, remember?”

Oops, he nearly forgot about that. How was he supposed to tell her about Mrs. Sawyer kissing him now, when he was almost naked? And while they were now going out. Although, she kissed him before he had asked Annie out, and she-Mrs. Sawyer-was the one that initiated the kiss, so it was technically not his fault. It was simple logic, really.

“Yeah, I’ll tell ya,” he said. “But you have to promise me that you won’t get angry with me.”

“Of course I won’t,” she said as he dealt out the cards to be the last run, for real this time.

Sam gazed at the hand he dealt himself. Two twos, two sevens, and a jack. Not too shabby. He might actually win this time. He looked over the top of his cards at her. She was staring at him.

“Well?” she said.

“One card,” he said, discarding his jack. She gave him one, and then gave herself two. Slowly, he picked it up. It was another seven! He had a full house! He grinned at her, not caring that he wasn’t keeping his poker face.

“I take it you won’t tell me about it until after we play this hand,” she said, smiling softly. “That’s all right… I can’t wait to completely crush you anyway.”

Sam snorted with amusement. “Oh right, love… I highly doubt you’ll crush me this time.”

“We shall see, won’t we?” she said. “So, you in then?”

“Of course.” Sam started by putting in a fiver. Annie smirked, putting in a fiver and then adding another one in. Sam met her other fiver, and raised her ten.

“Getting bold, are we?” she said. “You really think you have the better hand this time?”

“Of course,” he said confidently. “There’s no way you could have a better hand than me. Just no way.”

“Well, then, let’s see…” she said, putting in her ten pounds.

“Read’em and weep,” he said happily, showing her his cards. “Full house!”

She stared at his three sevens and two twos, and then slowly, with a wicked grin, showed her cards. Three kings and two queens. Sam’s jaw dropped.

“You’ve got to be shitting me!” he said in disbelief.

“I believe that means I win, huh?” she smiled prettily, fluttering her lashes. Sam continued to gape in astonishment at her cards, and Annie laughed. “Well, don’t just sit there gawking; take it off.”

Sam blushed, nearly laughing. He couldn’t believe that she beat the pants off him. Literally! Quickly, his arse barely leaving the chair, he slipped his underpants off and tossed them onto the pile of clothing. He stayed sitting there, hands in his lap, and staring straight at her. She was smiling almost smugly.

“Something wrong, Sam?” she said. “Bit cold?” she nodded at his chest, indicating that he had goosebumps as well as his nipples standing out. He smiled shyly, bringing his hands up to cover them, hands snuggly underneath each arm.

“Well, you won,” he said, trying to keep his teeth from chattering. “So now you’re the poker king. Er, I mean queen.”

Annie laughed. “That’s right. I stole your crown from you.” Then she tilted her head and looked at him curiously. “I never guessed you to be much of a poker player, actually. Doesn’t the crown usually go to the Guv?”

“Usually, yeah,” said Sam, shivering lightly. “I didn’t really get into it until I met the Guv. I mean, I knew how to p-play before I met him, I just didn’ do it often. When I had graduated from the force, I hadn’ played cards or gambled in any way and just kept my mind on the job. Th-that day, when the Guv asked me to join them at the table to play, it was the first time I had since the f-force.”

Annie smiled; staring across the table at him, chin resting on folded hands. Then, slowly, almost seductively, she stood from her chair and made her way toward the bed, which was conveniently located behind Sam. When she walked around him, he automatically placed his hands into his lap in some shyness, but he wasn’t sure why he was being shy now, since she had seen him naked before. He guessed it was just one of those instinctual habits.

She sat down on the edge of his bed, running a hand along the top of the covers, staring at the bed for a while before looking up into Sam’s face. He had turned around so that now he was sitting in his chair sideways, hands still in his lap and shivering slightly. She noticed him shaking and patted the spot next to her.

“Wanna come warm up?” she said innocently, smiling as sweetly as she could.

Sam’s cheeks blossomed even more, but he was smiling back; he wasn’t sure if he should be amused by all of this or annoyed. With his hands still covering himself in front, Sam stood and walked swiftly to the bed and sat beside her. Annie chuckled lightly, clearly very amused by Sam’s shyness; it was so sweet. But she took pity on him, especially because he was shivering. Although, it was a little nippy without much clothes on. Smiling, she pulled the covers back from his bed and slid in with a beckoning look, keeping one end of the covers pulled back. Sam took the invitation immediately, glad to warm up next to her.

“Better?” she said softly, and then she dimmed the light.

“Much,” he sighed, but he was still a bit conscious of his nudity under the blankets. Annie only wore knickers and a bra, and he could feel her heated skin even though she was a couple inches away from him. He nearly jumped out of his skin when she wrapped an arm around his chest and laid her head onto his shoulder. Instinctually, he slipped one arm underneath her and brought the other one around her waist, and just held her to him. Their bodies weren’t touching as much as he liked, so he pulled her closer and she gladly let him, practically wrapping herself around him.

“You keep that up, and…” Sam paused, looking at her. Annie was gazing at him, waiting for him to continue with his sentence, but when he didn’t, she blinked, eyes wide, and said, “Yes?”

Sam shook his head, and then leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Nothing.”

“No, no,” she urged. “What were you going to say?”

Sam buried his face into her hair, and he really had no idea why he was being so shy now. “Well, you’re pressed against me, and I’m naked.”

“Yeah?” she said. “And?”

“Well,” said Sam, gesturing with a hand. “You know… I might…”

Annie took him by surprise by straddling him, and then kissed him. He kissed back automatically, but was still in some shock by what she was doing. She slowly removed herself from his lips, moved up onto her knees, and as she stared down at him she brought her hands behind her back and unhooked her bra.

Sam lay there, staring. Damn, she was lovely. He didn’t know what to do with his hands, so he put them on top of her thighs. Her bra came off, and then slowly, as if doing a strip tease, slipped the straps off first, one by one, and then it was down her arms and off. She flung it aside without a care and stayed there on her knees, looming over him, looking into his eyes.

“Annie,” Sam whispered, hardly believing this was happening. He had asked her to stay with him before, that one night before he nearly betrayed her and the Guv. Now here she was, staying, and on top of him. Topless. And then he felt her heat over him, and it made him twitch. Her hands moved up his stomach, palms flat, and fingers brushing through the small hairs in the middle of his chest. His hands moved from her thighs to her hips, and then up even higher on her sides and down again. She really was curvy, her thighs strong, her belly soft, and her breasts were round and perfect; she was beautiful.

“Sam,” she breathed, and then leaned down, pressing herself hard against his body, and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, barely believing that this was already happening. He couldn’t help his reaction toward her. He thickened, swelling with blood, and gripped her arse, pulling her closer. She gasped at the feel of his length against her. “Oh, Sam…”

“Get these off,” he murmured, slipping his fingers into the waistband of her knickers and pulling down. One leg, and then the other, and then they were off and flung across the room. A flush crept up his neck at the feel of her on him; hot, soft. Instinctually, he pushed up against her and rubbed gently. He nipped at her chin.

“Want you, Annie,” he sighed.

She whimpered softly in his ear, his hardness taut against her. She slid herself up and down his shaft, causing him to shiver.

“Then take me,” she whispered.

He flipped them over, settling between her legs, shyness cast aside. She arched up against him, moaning, and he attacked her neck with fierce kisses, hands roaming over her body. He teased her, teased himself; they were wet and aching, and she cried out when he bit down on a tender spot below her neck. Her nails left red trails up his back as he pushed the head of his cock into her. Tight; hot; he gasped. She gripped every inch he slid into her.

“Sam,” she cried. “Oh, Sam!”

~**~

The phone rang, startling Sam out of sleep. At first he was confused as to why he felt weighed down, but then realized that he had someone sleeping on him. He looked down and saw that Annie had half her body on top of him, head on his chest. He tried not to stir her too much as he reached over for the phone. He nearly slipped off the bed, but then pushed himself back up once he grabbed the receiver.

“’Ello?” he said groggily, rubbing at one eye.

“You awake yet, Sam?” said Gene on the other end. “Time to go to the crime scene.”

“Oh, shit, that’s right,” said Sam. “Um, just waking up now actually… what time is it?”

“It’s time to get your arse up and over to the station, that’s what.”

“I’m surprised that you didn’t come over and knock my door down.”

“I’ll remember to do that next time, then,” said Gene sarcastically. “Now get your arse over here, pronto. I want to be done before tea time.”

“We’ll be right over,” Sam said without thinking.

“We?” Gene actually sounded surprised.

“Um…”

“With all that arse kissing Chris normally does with you, I’m not surprised that he got to do it literally.”

Sam sighed. “No, it’s not Chris that’s ‘ere with me.”

There was silence on the other end for a moment, and then Gene finally said, “Oh,” sounding smug. “No wonder you wanted to leave the pub so soon.”

“Not now, Guv,” he groaned. Annie was finally stirring awake; she moved her head over and cracked her eyes open a little, smiled, and then closed them again.

“Time to get up?” she grumbled against his chest.

“Yeah,” he said to her.

“Yeah, what?” said Gene on the phone.

“Nothing,” he said quickly. “Talkin’ to Annie.”

“Right. Well, get both yer arses out of bed and over here, preferably before I become an uncle.”

Sam sighed, rolling his eyes. “Yes, Guv.”
