long time no post...
So I know i haven't posted in a long time, but i've just been so busy, and as a side note i try to read everyone elses lj's as much as possible!
So things are going well with school, work, Feminist Students United (FSU), Bert and the apartment. By well I don't mean perfect. It seems like everything i do, I have to do five times in order for it to take effect and this has been extremely aggravating to me for a number of things lately. These things include Feminist students united and my apartment. ok now for bithfest!
I am very glad to be "co-chair" of FSU, however it is extremely aggravating that the other co-chair doesnt even fucking come to meetings. I'm so near dropping it, but then i think that my career goal is to get my degree majoring in Social Work and minoring in Women's studies so that i can work in a non-profit women's organization such as a rape crisis center or a battered women's shelter. How would it look if i couldnt even keep a Feminist group afloat to future employers, so it is for this and for the programs that the group puts on that i deem vital that i continue to put too much effort in to FSU.
Then there is my damn computer that i just recently reprogrammed, whatever the fucking word is. Im so aggravated that people can legaly ruin something that someone worked so hard for. My computer was unusable because of the number of pop-ups I was getting. SO because dell makes it so hard to do this with their computers, i had to call their tech support and go through two hours of step by step bullshit just to do this. AND to top it off, i could hardly understand what the people were saying.. grr!
Also my landlord is an idiot! I have to harass him to do everything! Even to get my lease I had to harass him for like two damn monthts, which should have been my warning sign. He is an idiot! He never does repairs and it took him forever to turn the heat on, the stupid man actually called and left me instructions on how to use the thermostat, he must think I am one dumb fuck, i kindly informed him that i knew how to do that and did, then he decided maybe he should actually turn the heat on for it to work, hmm hard one! Also, about a month ago he verbally agreed to a pet agreement after i wrote him a letter and sent him a sase for it (he didnt respond to that, i had to call him 3 times), and after i called him three more times just to get the paper he still hasnt sent it! IDIOT...
Work is great! I now work in the gym (Larkins) at osu and i do nothing, literally. Twice an hour i have to clean a machine which takes 2 minutes, and then i sit at a desk and swipe id's, and do homework, the whole time, its wonderful. Well it's wonderful except for people who refuse to show id and people who like to keep them in nasty places like socks, underwear(im not kidding) etc.
Classes are going well. I have two social work classes, policy and human develpment and a work out class and intro to women's studies. I like all of my classes except for i have three presentations and i HATE speaking in front of people, but so goes life heh. I really like my work out class, which is online, because it pushes me to work out more often, well that and working at the gym. SO now i work out like 5-7 days a week and ive lost 8 pounds so far this quarter, yay for that!
Bert and I are doing great! For those of you that don't know, she asked me to marry her in July and I accepted, so we are engaged. We had our one year anniversary on sept 1rst and things are wonderful with us. We have also saved her dog from lakewood, and I love him sooo much, he is a 4lb long hair yorkee-chihuaha mix named Paco, he is so much fun! Venus (my ferret) is very sick, she keeps puking, she was doing it for a couple of days and i made an appointment for her and then she was fine, so i cancelled it, but now she is doing it again, i dont know what to do, i cant afford an appointment right now, but hopefully soon.
Well the puter lab is closing, so i have to go, i hope everyone is well!
