Nothing But Grey Concrete and Dead Beats
So, I just got back from the State Fair. Ugh. Never going again. It's the same thing every year and the prices manage to get even more outrageous as time goes on. I mean $10 for a ride on the Ferris wheel?! No.
Our original plan was to get there really early, eat breakfast, and beat the crowds. Yeah, that didn't happen. We only found ONE breakfast burrito stand open when we got there and it took over 30 minutes to get 4 burritos. >_> They were also very badly made (not hot, no cheese, etc.) After that we sort of just roamed the different stands. Nothing exciting. Except, oddly enough, they had this HUGE room filled with nothing but bunnies! I think I had a full-out cute overdose right there and then. ^^
After that, we went to the midway. Ugh. Every damn time, without fail, I get harassed by the people running the rides/games. And no offense to people in that profession, but in general they aren't the type of people one wants hitting on them. CrreeeEEppPPPyyyYY. As a result, I only went on two rides. Both of which made me feel ill.
Honestly? The highlight of the day for me was when me, my dad, and my sister took a picture together with parrots on our shoulders. I only wished I had a pirate hat for the occasion.
Yeah, so it was an okay trip. Just won't be going back for a LONG time.
In other news:
- In a cruel twist of fate my most recent ex boyfriend is now in my database class. Can we say awkward? Yes, yes we can.
- Hex starts up again tonight! Hee. Hopefully the writing improves a bit because there were some aspects of that show that really annoyed me.
- Emmys! Tonight! Yey! I really hope Arrested Development and Lost take home some shiny statues. I think I’ll be really happy if Terry O’Quinn wins for best supporting actor. If nothing else happens, I want to see that man win something for his (brilliant) performance.
