The Road to Tiny Cities Made of Ashes
I fucking hate 4th of July weekend. No really, I do.
*Covers head and tries to go to sleep...and fails*
Not only does the noise irritate me (and once upon a time it hurt my ears), but the thought of complete idiots operating potentially dangerous explosives is enough to drive me batty.
Why can't people just watch the professional fireworks? Really, I just don't understand why people need to set off their own big ass fireworks. Seems like completely unnecessary risk to me. Sparklers? Fine, whatever. Poppers? Go for it. But the big stuff? Dumb, dumb, dumb!
I mean, I'm sure plenty of people are perfectly responsible while handling their fireworks. The others? Not so much.
We have to give our dog Dolly tranquilizers during thunderstorms and firework events because the poor thing gets so freaked out. Frankly, I'm somewhat tempted to use some of those tranqs myself. :3

One thing I can be grateful for though is that New Mexico is currently not suffering from a drought (like we usually do). The risk of a fire is still high, just not as much as it usually is this time of year.
In completely unrelated news, I went to the casino this morning!
My mom gave me $40 to play and I was down to 20-something when I put $4.50 in to a random Bewitched machine. Um, holy crap! I walked away with about $98! :D Between that and some earnings from earlier I walked out of there with $113+. Sadly, had to give the original $40 to my mom. But...the rest is mine! Mine I say! Mwahahaha!
I think I need to get myself a DVD boxset. What do you guys think?
Should I pick up Firefly? ^__^
