The IT Crowd, series 1-3
I just happened to stumble across this series and I am SO GLAD I DID! It's hilarious! There were a few episodes that I actually had to pause because I was laughing to the point of tears. The one where Roy accidentally pulls the emergency line in the handicap bathroom had to be one of THE FUNNIEST episodes of anything I've ever seen! HIS FACEEEE when going up on to the van! ("...I'm disabled!") BWAHAHA!
I love Moss! And Roy! And Jen! I love the whole little IT group and I wished I worked in that basement.
I admit, there are some aspects of the show that are a little too silly for my tastes (mostly the boss' shenannigans), but otherwise it's fantastic and worth checking out if you haven't already.
Jen: With all due respect John, I am the head of IT and I have it on good authority. If you type "Google" into Google, you can break the Internet. So please, no one try it, even for a joke. (the executives laugh) It's not a laughing matter. You can break the Internet.
Merlin, series 1
Well, I gotta say that the "monster of the week" episode structure got old pretty quick, since it basically breaks in to the following sequence of events for every episode:
- Opening scenes include intro to this week's big bad, who is 99.9% a creature/person with magical ability thereby proving Uther correct.
- Merlin/Arthur/Gwen/Morgana encounter said magical creature/person, who in turn bites/curses them.
- Merlin/Arthur/Gwen/Morgana end up gravely ill and lie on their deathbed.
- Merlin/Arthur/Gwen/Morgana set out to make things right.
- Merlin (if he is not the one in his deathbed) wants to use his magical ability to help his friends.
- Gaius either approves or disapproves of Merlin using magic.
- Cryptic dragon gives Merlin cryptic advice.
- Either way, Merlin uses magic.
- Order is returned.
- Huzzah!
Despite the predictability, there is somthing rather charming about this show. The characters are awesome and the Arthur + Merlin banter is always good for some laughs. It's just a fun family show without a lot of strings attached, and sometimes it's nice to watch something like that.
I did get really irritated that by season's end NO ONE ELSE was in on Merlin's secret. I might watch series 2, but for the people on my flist ahead of me..does it get better?
Modern Family, season 2
I love everything that this show chooses to be.
...
Wow, that's honestly all I can say. This show is equal parts funny and heartwarming. I'm so glad they won the Emmy.
Community, season 2
I'm very relieved that we seem to be moving past the romance stuff. I'm one of those fans that want the 'ships left off the show. I don't mind the jokes about it here and there, but for it to actually happen...just...no.
The Chang stuff is hit or miss with me so far. I loved the Gollum thing from episode 1, but everything since then has been a little uncomfortable to watch.
I love Troy so, so much. His dance/reaction to Annie using the chloroform (sp? I'm too lazy to correct my spelling on this post) on that guy was priceless!
Overall I'm really pleased with the season so far and am crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes hoping that it doesn't get canceled. It's far too amazing for that.
