And I've avoided doing things I know I can

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to try to get back in to LJ. I've really missed posting stuff and, of course, I've missed all of you. How have you guys been?

(I can't believe it's been almost a year! Ugh! Bad me!)

Stuff I've been watching (potential spoilers):

30 Rock

Liz Lemon is who I want to be when I grow up. That is all. :)

Big Love

I never had any interest in this show but then Netflix started sending them and now needless to say, I'm hooked. It's such an unusual show for me, because I'm not really a huge fan of any of the characters and that's usually 90% of a reason I become attached to a show. I just really like the story and the acting, I guess.

Glee

I...want to like this show. I really do. And I did during the first handful of episodes. It was the perfect balance of cute, interesting and pretty. But I'm about five episodes behind now and judging from general buzz I'm not the only one feeling "meh" about it right now. It's just always painful to see a show with so much potential failing at the most basic things (like decent characters, for example). I do like Rachel (in small doses), Kurt, and Puck. Possibly Rachel/Puck, but we'll see. I might try to catch up, I might not.

Heroes

I haven't watched the last two episodes yet. I'm really on the fence about this series at the moment. Part of me wants to be a good fan and keep watching since it has been a decent season. The other part of me feels like the writers have taken away anything that I really enjoyed about this show. It was very obvious that Nathan was going to get the boot at some point, I just wish now that he'd died in one of the other, better (by comparison) ways.

Also, I know you can't control what the fandom likes, but I really wish the Sylar/ZQ craze wasn't so prevalent. I feel like that character (and Peter's and Hiro's to a degree but they've both been de-powered quite a bit) is part of the reason the show has gone down in quality over the past few years. Way too powerful to be interesting. But I'm clearly in the minority there, so don't mind me. :P

True Blood

I. LOVE. THIS. SHOW! I know it has flaws but man, oh man do I not care! I've only watched season 1 (WHERE IS THE SEASON 2 DVD?!), but I'm really in love. SAM! TARA! YOU GUYS ARE MY FAVORITES! I'm also absolutely crazy about the opening credits. The best ever, no doubt. I cannot wait to get my hands on more episodes.

Anyone know where to find good icons?

Weeds

This show is completely over-the-top and ridiculous, but it still manages to work. And for that reason I will continue to watch. Oh, and Andy. ♥ I really like Andy, for some reason.

I also managed to track down a copy of Pasdar's indie flick, Home Movie. It was...well, let's just say I'll go through a lot to see that man.
