How I Met Your Mother - Miracles

BARNEY LOVES ROBIN! BARNEY LOVES ROBIN! BARNEY LOVES ROBIN!

(TYPING THAT WILL NEVER GET OLD!)

BOOYAH!

More on that in a second, though...

  • I loved, loved, LOVED the very start of the episode. Everyone running all slow and dramatically down the street with the music playing only to find Ted chilling in the hospital without a scratch on him. Marshall running with his Guitar Hero guitar while trying to put on some pants was magical.
  • The pencil scene may have made in to my Top 10 Favorite HIMYM moments. I could not stop laughing. Everyone's expression was so perfect. LOL.
  • Ted's story in this episode bugged me. Since when is Ted the one freaking out about long-term commitment stuff? It just seemed extremely out-of-character to me. I also didn't understand the complete 180 he pulled. I doubt Stella will say yes, but if she does, I predict it will be over by the time season 4 starts.
  • I find it kind of hilarious how LJ exploded after "Sandcastles in the Sand" and then after that it was just dead silence. I love Barney/Robin as much as other B/R fans, but I'm actually extremely relieved with how they've been handled so far. It would've sucked if they'd just rushed in to a relationship or whatever their equivalent to dating would be. TV show relationships tend to not last very long unless the characters end up married or pregnant. I'd rather watch the two characters grow a bit first and then somewhere down the road maybe start something official. Having Barney realize how important Robin has become to him was a step in the right direction. Kudos, writers.
  • Overall I thought this was a great way to wrap up this season. Can't wait for the next one to start.

Supernatural

Well, that was quite the cliffhanger, wasn't it? I'm glad they actually went there (and by "there" I of course mean Hell). I was worried all that buildup would be for nothing. I'm interested to see where they go with this -- if Dean will return at all, and if/when he does if he'll still be...well, Dean.

One question: WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A CREPPY-ASS KID? WHY?! I have enough trouble dealing with children as it is, stop making children evil minions, TV shows and movies! I'm starting to develop a legitimate fear here.

In the past week or so I've managed to watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Fur, Soapdish, Friends & Lovers, Gothika, and Zodiac. I also have Chances Are and U.S. Marshals saved on my TiVo. I'm sensing a theme here.

Also, just for the record, The Host > Twilight. I enjoy Twilight a lot, but there are a few things about the series and the characters *cough*and the fans*cough* that annoy the hell out of me. Whereas with The Host I was completely satisfied from start to finish (Ian FTW!). Anyone know if there's a sequel planned? Even though it ended perfectly I wouldn't say no to another story or two set in this verse. (One last random thought on the book--I couldn't stop picturing Jeb as Bobby from Supernatural).

books: the host, books: twilight, movies, tv: how i met your mother, tv: supernatural
