HAHAHA. Personally I think Gaspard has a duckface, so this is an upgrade because it means seeing less of him on the omnipresent Twilight icons. (Is there any good reason the fans thought a random French actor would be cast in a YA vampire romance movie, or...??)

Although part of me wishes they'd cast, you know, some incredibly fugly guy that all the fangirls hated so they could rage, rage against the dying of the Gaspard/Emily Browning ship. RARRR.

I think Gaspard is a pretty good actor, but looks-wise he does nothing for me. I find Rob Pattinson much more attractive, but that's just personal preference. ;)

I think the author mentioned that Gaspard was one of the actors she pictured as Edward, and the fans kind of ran away with that. 203471987349280734 icons and fanart later...

LMAO! Did you ever see the icon that had Steve Steve Buscemi as Edward next to Emily Browning? XD It's hysterical, I wish I'd saved it or knew where the post about it was.

Cedric as Edward! That is very awesome. Frankly, I didn't care who they picked to play Edward. I'm more concerned about Jacob. (And I think Gaspard isn't very good looking anyway.)

THANK YOU! Yes, it is awesome! I once again have an excuse to use all of my RPATZ/Cedric icons again. ;) Anyway, with him in the role I might actually care about Edward post-
Twilight (assuming they're turning all of the books in to films).

I'm really interested to see who they cast as Jacob too, especially since he's supposed to be sort of young looking in
Twilight.

I'm equally amused and disgusted by all of the "OMG! HE'S NOT EDWARD! EDWARD IS ~*~FLAWLESS~*~! THIS GUY IS DISGUSTING!" comments. Damn. If Robert Pattinson is ugly, I'd really like to see who these fans consider pretty (whose name is not Gaspard). Even if he doesn't fit the mental image fans had of the character, isn't the way he portrays Edward much more important?

I don't understand why people still had their hopes up about Gaspard, he's way too old!
Yeah, I don't understand it either. I kind of wish Stephanie Meyer had never posted about her dream casting.

YES. Postive post! Everyone in the Twilight fandom are like REALLY pissed and going insane. I had to disjoin a Twilight commun I was a member of because so many posts were flooding my flist. I mean, I like Gaspard, but I like Robert too and I'm happy. :) I agree, some of the people in the fandom are scary. :/

The only Twilight comms I have friended are a newsletter and the Bella/Jacob one, so I was thankfully able to avoid the crazy. I can only imagine what the other comms are like right now. o_O Even ONTD is exploding.

Exactly. I really don't understand what the problem is. I'm actually pretty happy with the casting so far.

I think fans forget that the books are told from Bella's POV and that she is more than a little biased when it comes to Edward. I'm sure he's supposed to be extremely handsome, but flawless? I think that's just Bella's opinion. ;)
