Does anyone have any good book, movie, TV, or music (bands, individual tracks, or albums) recommendations for me? Christmas came early for me this year in a big way.
I would also love some PC recs. I just found out I'm getting a new computer as a graduation present (OMGOMGOMG!) and I'm very torn about what I want. I was originally thinking of looking at the Macs, but they're too expensive and I'm not sure I'm ready to make the "leap" yet. I currently have an HP, which I originally loved, but for over a year now it has gotten sooooo sllooooowwww and nothing I do fixes it. Most of the great deals I see in the sales paper are for HP, but I'm extremely reluctant to get something from them again. Has anyone else ever owned an HP computer? If so, what was your experience like?
Heroes
Now that a week has passed, I've mellowed out a bit (hey, I've grown as a person ;) ). The more I think about it, the more I think the entire Nathan thing is just a cliffhanger and probably not permanent. I think the writers do realize how vital and popular Nathan is as a character, know how many fans were annoyed by this season, and decided to use all of this as a way to lure people in to watching volume 3. I've read that the writers are undecided about what to do with and/or want fans to help decide his fate. This may all be true, but yeah, I have a feeling they're just teasing us. They probably know full well what they're doing with him and are just trying to get fans passionate and enthusiastic about the show again. At this point my thought is: if they do kill him off (permanently), really, it's their loss. I'll personally be extremely pissed and disappointed, but I'll continue to watch the show despite that. It just would never be the same for me again. :(
Anywho, overall I thought this was a much stronger finale than last season's. It tied things up pretty nicely and that Nathan + Matt flying scene made my year.
I really hope the writer's strike ends soon, but at the same time I'm kind of grateful for it. Hopefully the Heroes writers will use this time to their advantage and really think about where they want to go with this show. I liked the second season a lot more than most people seemed to, but even I have to agree that there were some cringe worthy moments that probably could've been avoided. It will also be nice to get a (sort of) break from the fandom. I'm so frustrated by so many different parts of the fandom right now and I HATE that feeling. Heroes is supposed to be my shiny, pretty, non-complicated, super-powered-show-of-fun. No negativity, drama, or wank allowed, you guys. ;P
