Chicago jealously

Having just read dreamwell_Ali's post about Chicago I am sorely jealous...even more so since I just went to Chicago (week before she did) and did NOTHING Chicago related. It was all family. Not that this was at all bad, but it was hard not to do a few of my fvorite things while there. My sister did take us to the beach at Loyola to play with Cole, which was tre cool, but otherwise the trip was verrry mundane. And I am still recovering. Here's why:

1. Travelling with Cole is stressful, he being the active 2 year old that he is. He was originally very stoked about flying on the plane to grandma's, but once we took off and were in the air for about 15 minutes he announced "airplane all done." Then it was another 2+ hours of keeping him busy (which we did, there was no crying or screaming, but jeez that is a lot of work).

2. When we got back my babysitter had mysteriously disappeared. I was supposed to work the next day and my babysitter didn't show. Didn't answer her phone or return my calls. I had to take Cole to work with me, and when I finally got ahold of her boyfriend he said "oh, she had some kind of family emergency and had to go hmoe." Home being RUSSIA. I think it was a premeditated ditch, looking back at some weird things she did/said. It would've been nice if she'd left a message at any time instead of just totally screwing me over.

3. Cole's health. New allergy treatment, called NAET, is going really well. But for some reason Cole does NOT like it.

4. Joining a critique group. I am going to finally be doing the drastic rewrite on our YA fantasy, and this group will hold me accountable. But it is making me stressed because I actually have to make time to do the writing.
