More poetry, please
There are so many events going on, I want to go to them all! No sleeping, no eating, just poetry and art and music and dance and drums all day long...
That's what happens when I let myself out for an evening of writing, which I did on Satuday. A little taste is not enough. I didn't want it to end. To hell with my day to day life. More, I want More!
I saw writing friends for dinner (hi K. and J.!) and then saw Vortex Drive at the Mercury Cafe on Saturday. And of course I'd like to do this all the time...
Vortex Drive is Katherine West (who is publishing me) reading her poems, her husband Jeff playing slide guitar, and a modern dancer named Michelle interpreting. Very hypnotic, rhythmic, and not long enough. I also got asked by Jeff if I was serious about being part of the Green Fuse Press(www.greenfusepress.com) community. I am serious, in the sense that readings are serious fun for me.
So the answer is yes. I only hope life will let me take as big a bite of the poetry world as I'd like to right now...a little nibble will never fill me up.
