Only one more week of classes, then a week of exams followed by Christmas break. I'm so excited to go home and see my family--not to mention meeting Ben's family for the first time and introducing him to my mom and my sister. I'm pretty sure that things will go well. Either way there will be lots of fun baking to look forward to.
I tried a recipe from an online cite called Smitten Kitchen that my cousin suggested to me. I love sable cookies (also known as French "punishment" cookies or Les Punitions) with coffee, so I tried making my own earlier this evening and they turned out great. There's lots of other recipes on there for things besides deserts. That was just what I was in the mood to make.
I'm definitely ready to be home from school. Wrapping gifts, cooking special food, having time to read a book for fun and not for a class, taking Recchi to the local dog park, watching the old puppet Christmas movies on ABC Family with my sister...Can these next two weeks just hurry up and be over with?
