MAIN CHAPPIE - 2 It is common knowledge that you just can't have enough mistletoe... and Hot-Chocolate of Course
-Ano … sumimasen … anybody?- politely called out the blond, almost bending over the counter, to see if he could spot anybody, as he wondered why was it, that when a person actually did need help, there was nobody to be spotted; this was getting annoying. However, it wasn't as annoying as his circumstances with Yuuto, that was for sure, thus he simply stood there patiently waiting for whomever, who happened to be the same girl that had approached him at the beginning.
-May I help you? - she politely questioned with the brightest of smiles, looking like she hadn't just been gone for the past ten minutes. Jin replied with a grin, and even though he wasn't sure they actually did what he was about to ask, he concluded that trying wouldn't have hurt; which was a completely different thing when referring to his bassist, trying was going to hurt, really bad at that.
-Yes, I was wondering … I haven't touched it yet … but … like … it got cold, so ...- Jin hesitantly inquired, as he analyzed his own words while professing them, admitting to himself that if the girl were to have refused his request, it wouldn't have had any reason to be angry at her, because it wasn't her fault if all he seemed to be doing lately was daydreaming.
-What are you doing? ...- curiously inquired the taller, as he looked up at his band and room-mate intently doing something on top of a chair under the living room door. The two had been living together for almost a year, and once again that time of the year was coming closer, and the blond seemed to be intent to teach the other how to spend a proper Christmas. He wanted him to understand the meaning of the day beyond any religious connection; he wanted him to get the magic of Christmas. Even though, it meant that he'd have to dismiss another family dinner, and he was positive his parents wouldn't have taken that very well.
-Can't you tell? ...- replied the shorter with a giggle, believing the other not serious in his question, but apparently, that he was
-I wouldn't be asking if I knew, would I? ...- calmly replied the taller, still looking up at him, awaiting for the blond to answer his previous question
-I am … hanging a mistletoe … over every door … to … you know ...- slowly replied the blond, in an unsure manner, as he nodded his head in agreement with his words, trying to incite the brunette to finish the sentence by himself. However, the other simply kept staring up at him, eyes blinking, and completely clueless -you … really … don't know? - hesitantly inquired the blonde, gazing at the brunette, with said mistletoe still hanging off his hand, as all he received in reply from the other was an almost annoyed eye widening - … when two people find each other under a mistletoe at the same time … they must kiss ...- slowly explained the blond, as he turned around to finally pin said object to the wall
-So … it is a couple thing ...- curiously inquired the other, leaning on a side of the hallway wall, looking up at the drummer
-No … any two people … so you better be careful!- playfully warned Jin, shaking his index finger at the taller, who smirked.
-... its not like you are giving people much of a chance to escape though ...- he then observed, as he spotted a mistletoe hanging over each single door in the apartment
-But that is the whole point off it! ...- widely grinned the blond, jumping of the chair -... are scared you might have to kiss me?- inquired the younger, with an expression of pretense mischief. The other made one of his usual expression, which Jin couldn't quite read, though it seemed like he was going to say something, Yuuto merely grinned once again, and patting him on the head, he left towards his room.
-I mean … who doesn't know what a mistletoe is!- he hissed to himself, almost burning his tongue trying to drink the newly warmed up beverage, once he got back to his far table, surprised to the fact that the attendant had agreed to his request to warm the beverage again, with a bizarre and oddly questioning expression, but nonetheless she did it.
… It's the most wonderful time of the year...
suddenly rang his cell phone, announcing the arrival of a text message. Flapping the device open, he painfully gazed at the name of the sender, and was about to flap the phone right close, for he really didn't need anymore drama at the moment. He already knew what would probably be written in the text, and the truth was that he didn't know how to answer. Nevertheless, he went ahead and read it.
Sweetheart, I know you are busy with work, and
I probably should consider you absent this
Christmas as well, but I just wanted to ask, just in case
… and if you suddenly
happen to have time, even if it is 11:59 on that day, do come
we miss you ...especially around this time around this time.
Okay I'll stop now. Love you. Mom.
He heavily sighed, roughly massaging his forehead in irritation. He hated having to make his parents feel like he couldn't find even the tiniest time to spend with them on Christmas, and he really couldn't understand how he had allowed Yuuto to get to him the way he had. However, what he really couldn't understand, was why had the bassist decided to do something so unjustifiable to him. After all they had been through in the almost three years of their living together, especially after what happened last Christmas; why in hell, out of the three-hundred and sixty-five days of the year, did he have to pick the three-hundred and fifty-ninth?
