CHAPTER 2 PART 2

The apprentice's weary, yet extremely attentive, brown eyes were occasionally straying from the image of the two tightly embraced brothers, who were silently walking in front of him, to cautiously wander around the unfamiliar surrounding of their grandiose and antique dwelling, as they proceeded along the wide corridor of the main floor. Starting from the costly golden chandeliers, which would have certainly employed a considerable number of men, and time, in order to lit all the candles adorning them, as he observed some of the servants diligently performing. To the tiles, which displayed a geometric themed pattern, consisting of different size circles and hexagons arranged in a varied combinations, and shades of colors such as cream, brown, and green, with an overall burgundy background. Every element that opulently decorated this particular section of the house, loudly declared the eminent standing of the family that resided in it.

-May I please speak to Ms. Miho? - politely inquired Kazuhiro to a passing servant, as they stopped at the entrance of the kitchen. The servant bowed, and disappeared in the activity frenzied room, and not too long after, a rather short middle aged lady in a plain black dress with an embroidered white collar, and dark hair packed in a chignon, showed up at the entrance of the kitchen, displaying a joyful smile and the customary bow.

-Ms. Miho, I was-

-You were wondering whether I could gather your siblings, and guests, to partake at the dinner, and yes, I most gladly will - politely interrupted the housekeeper with a confident smile, at which Kazuhiro replied with an amused laughter

-Exactly, well I shouldn't be surprised I suppose, you do run this house after all - observed the blonde - I hope I am not being to sudden, if - he tried to excuse himself, but was yet again interrupted

-Not to worry. The dining room is already set, and ready for use, and now if you may both excuse me, I shall go and send for your brothers - calmly answered the housekeeper, exiting the kitchen, as she vanished down the corridor.

-Well then. Shall we proceed? - eagerly proposed the elder blonde, receiving a half nod by the brunette, as they walked towards a room next to the main living room.

Impossible, thought the brunette as he finally abandoned the notion, of ever getting used to the extravagance of the wealthy, as his incredulous eyes took in the unnecessarily large dimensions of the dining room, which he was certain, could have contained all the thirty children he grew up with in his orphanage, with the nuns, and the occasional priest. At the center of the luxurious waste of space, there was a long red clothed and readily set table, which was surrounded by impassively standing servants, each for every one of the nine chairs. As they got closer to the table, Kazamasa suddenly parted from the elder's embrace and walked towards one particular set of servant-chair, while Kazuhiro turned around to find the brunette, scratching his head with an expression of utter ignorance. The apprentice took a few quick step getting at a whispering distance from the elder blonde, firmly keeping his stare fixed on the sumptuous table disposition.

-I … - hesitantly whispered the brunette - I am not too familiar … or rather ... I have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever ... - continued the apprentice, slowly turning to a darker shade of red -of the proper table etiquette … - he concluded, thinking back to his childhood days in the orphanage, which happened to be an extremely poor one at that, where at times, he had considered himself extremely lucky to even have a fork to eat with. Of course, he was now accustomed to having at least a fork, a spoon and a knife, but what was facing his stupefied eyes was a war-field of cutlery. Three different size forks on the left of the center plate, which had another small one on top, two different size knifes and a spoon on the right of it, another spoon and a fork placed horizontally at the top of it, a little knife on top of a little plate to the utmost left, and three different size glasses at the utmost right; maybe if he kept stupefyingly blinking hard enough, a couple of forks and glasses might have magically disappeared.

Kazuhiro swiftly placed his hand in front of his mouth, trying to contain an a sudden involuntary laughter, as he looked at the completely flushed face of the apprentice.

-I apologize … - he then coughed out, regaining his composure, and regarding the not so amused brunette.

-Do not worry, Mr. Uke, simply imitate the person that will be sitting next to you, and you shall be alright - managed to reply the blonde, as they walked towards the last seat on the long side of the table facing them.

-Which at a glance, following the proper seating etiquette, it should Takeru … -

-S-seating etiquette? … - quickly stuttered the apprentice, whose attention was now entirely on the soon potentially bearer of unfortunate news.

-Yes. There are different types of seating etiquette, and given our family history, we follow the military one - explained the elder blonde

-Thus ... Considering the type and number of guests we have today, here is where the youngest, Takeru, is going to seat - he stated, indicating the chair past the statuesque servant, as he shifted to the tail of the table

-You, Mr. Uke, are going to be seated here, following - continued the blonde as he moved to the other side

-Takanori, myself, Takahiro, Dr. Niikura - he listed, as he ended by the head table

-Yasuno of course, for father is not here at the moment … - then turning back to the side where they had started he completed the disposition

-Lady Ayaka, Akira and … - stopped the blonde as he smiled and placed his hands on the younger blonde's shoulders, who was still standing immobile behind a servant.

-And that should be it - he then concluded with a smile, which slowly vanished into a questioning expression, as he looked at the completely horrified expression on the brunette's face, who didn't know of the existence of a seating etiquette, and was hoping to keep his patient as far as possible from his nightmare, and was now trying to remember when exactly was the ill-fated day that his relationship with fortune had turned so sour.

-Everything alright? … Mr. Uke … - hesitantly called the blonde.

-Anything the matter Yutaka? - asked a concerned voice coming from the entrance of the room, at which the brunette turned towards finding Dr. Niikura followed by Yasuno, Lady Ayaka, Takeru, and someone he had yet not met. Noticing the apprentice's questioning gaze, the elder brunette turned towards the unknown blonde and introduced him.

-This is Hayashi Takahiro, Akira's twin - he explained as the group walked towards the table, nodding and bowing, past the apprentice- needless to say, they are dizygotic twins - concluded the doctor with his usual friendly smile, as the introduced person walked towards the apprentice, extending his hand.

-I am Dr. Niikura's apprentice, Uke Yutaka, pleased to make your acquaintance - replied the brunette with a joyful smile, as he observed the relaxed expression on the twin. The brunette was finally pleased and relived to the fact that the blonde didn't seem to share the same furious genes as his twin brother, but alas, he soon discovered that a raging voice, and murderous eyes, weren't the only ways to convey animosity, as his hand was tightly and hurtfully squeezed, by the twin, as the brunette surprisingly managed not to yelp in pain. Perhaps, the twin was just an extremely strong person, who didn't know how to dose his own strength, thought the apprentice, trying to find an explanation to what had just happen, as he massaged his hand, but the mischievously amused expression on the twin didn't give space to any sort doubts; the blonde didn't like him. Great.

Regaining himself for the momentary shock, he joined the others at the table, and imitating them just as instructed, he moved in between the chair and the table, and stood there like the rest, most likely waiting for the two missing members. Soon after, Akira paced into the room, and walked straight to the his chair, not bothering in greeting anybody, as usual, keeping his silence. They waited some minutes longer, but the missing member, and the only one Yutaka had been waiting to meet, wasn't showing up.

-Well … Takanori is usually always busy with study, so we shall- tried to explain Yasuno but was abruptly interrupted by Akira

-He will come- and sure enough, a few seconds later the mentioned blonde appeared among the awaiting crowd, and took his place next to the now overly excited apprentice.

-Perfect. We may now be seated - finally stated Yasuno, as the servants pushed the chairs in, allowing their owners to properly seat on them, they then grabbed both plates, and left the room.

Having somebody help him seat down, had been awkward enough for the apprentice, who refrained from slightly pushing himself out of the table, feeling like he had been pushed a little too in, not wanting to destroy the politely performed job. However his uncomfortable posture didn't seem to bother him too much, as he discreetly fixed his eyes on the apathetically looking genius. Apparently, his gaze hadn't been discreet enough as his attention was suddenly won by Yasuno's voice

-As you may probably already know Mr. Uke, he is my prodigious brother, Takanori - introduced the eldest.

-Nice to make your acquaintance Mr Uke - replied the recently introduced blonde -I have been eagerly waiting for the day our certain to be highly profitable collaboration, and I can only hope for such desire to be mutual - he concluded observing the brunette with interest, and slowly displaying a felicitous expression, he extended a hand, which as the other, was covered by thick black leather gloves.

-Absolutely! - excitedly replied the brunette - I most certainly do - emphasized the apprentice, and trying not to look too inquisitive to the reason why the younger was wearing gloves in a closed setting, and in summer at that, he quickly grabbed the hand as they safely shook hands.

-And you may now kiss the bride - uttered Takeru with a pleased grin, followed by the low amused laughter of Lady Ayaka, and the blush on the face of the apprentice, who was now nervously smiling while staring at his plate, as the eye-glassed blonde released an indifferent sigh.

-Speaking of weddings! - cheerfully interjected lady Ayaka - I expect you Mr Uke, and of course Dr. Niikura as well, to attend ours - she concluded joyfully blinking at her future husband, who replied with another smile, as he held her hand.

-I doubt they could miss even if they intended to ... - coldly replied Takeru - given your completely understandable vigor in the matter - he swiftly laughed out trying to cover up his previous dissatisfied tone, which had turned the lady's expression into a disturbingly questioning one.

-But should you really be attending Takeru? You know, weddings are held in churches ... - suddenly questioned Takanori, as he nonchalantly fixed the fitting of his gloves

-Really? - ironically spat the youngest - From what I heard, they may not be as entertaining a place, but believe me, I shall have absolutely no problems with them - drily concluded the youngest.

-Oh I am sure you don't - observed the elder - but given your recent ... and past activities ... - he began to explain as he quickly pushed up his glasses with his middle finger - As soon as you will set foot in the holy place, we might all be the unfortunate witnesses of a surely spectacular and rare case of human self-combustion - concluded Takanori with a diverted smirk, at which Takeru was about to reply but was interrupted by the eldest, who announced the entrance of the food, as their respective server reappeared in the room with the flat plate, which had salmon and salad.

-Is your mother alright? I would have expected her to join us for dinner - suddenly commented the doctor as he placed his napkin on his laps, which action was swiftly imitated by Yutaka, as he embarrassingly realized that everyone else had already done so.

-She is not feeling too wonderful … that's why she is not here at the moment - quickly replied Kazuhiro with a smile, as he kept distractedly glancing at the apprentice, who was trying not to give too much in the eye as he observed what type of cutlery was to be used for the salmon. However, the usage of cutlery, implied the usage of hands, and the usage of a knife, implied the usage of both hands. As he remembered his brother's injured hand he quickly looked in the younger's direction, but a heavy sound of cutlery banged on the table grabbed his, and the rest of the startled guest attention. Too late.

The whole table turned towards the source of the sound, which came from Akira, who was now placing his elbows on the table, and his folded hands in front of his mouth, dragging one long slow sigh.

-What happened? - he dryly asked Kazuhiro, as he nudged his head in the direction of Kazamasa's injured hand, who after being startled by the previous sudden outburst of the elder, quickly hid his head in between his brought up knees, with his arms tightly wrapped around them. Kazuhiro was about to reply when a sudden sound of cutlery crashing to plates, shifted everybody's attention to a morbidly pale apprentice, who was intently gazing at his fallen cutlery.

-Why am I not surprised … - angrily hissed Akira, still looking at Kazuhiro, whose stare was drifting away, knowing there was now nothing else that could be said, and even if there were, he had never once gone against any of his brothers, even if he had wanted, he had never tried.

-Are we already playing doctor, Mr. Uke? - irritatedly breathed out the lawyer placing his overpowering gaze on the firmly averting one of the apprentice.

-I-I apolog- tried to utter the brunette

-I am not interested in your apologizes- sharply interrupted the blonde, as he shifted his posture towards the apprentice, looking at the brunette with a feign inquisitive expression - Is it that hard to find practice dummies this days? - he then inquired, as the brunette quickly glanced at the rest of the guest desperately searching for assistance, but they were all silently looking elsewhere, all but Takahiro, who was furiously gazing at him as well -because I was going to search for one, for my morning shooting exercises, but I was wondering whether you would be so kind to offer yourself instead? - concluded the blonde apparently waiting for an answer.

-I d-did not- manged to utter the apprentice, as he began his corporeal trembling routine, to the sole thought of the presence of any weapon.

-know! said the man, who shot without first checking whether the gun had bullets - angrily interrupted the elder once more

-I-it was an accident, I never int-

-Not even a day you have been in this place, and you can already cause this? - irritatedly spat the lawyer vaguely pointing at Kazamasa hand, who was still hiding himself, tightly embraced in his own body - without intending? - yelled out the lawyer, as he banged his fist on the table, causing the entire set of cutlery on the table to tremble.

-It strangely appears as if I hadn't made myself clear some time ago … - spat the blonde, ungracefully dropping his napkin into his plate, as the brunette began to frantically shake his head in denial.

-N-no I -

-Quiet - ordered the blonde with a hiss -Stop giving me excuse, I can do shit with your excuses, they are good in irritating me, if that's what you want! - cried out the lawyer, startling the crowd once more by quickly getting up in the direction of the apprentice, who sprang up from his chair as well backing up a few steps, as Dr. Niikura held the enraged blond by the wrist.

-It is not as bad a wound Akira, calm down - firmly instructed the doctor, but the blonde forcefully freed himself from the doctor's grip, and as he intended to walk in the direction of the petrified apprentice, his wrist was once more caught, but this time by Kazamasa, who had released a hand from his still crouching position. The lawyer stared at his younger brother, eyes widened in visible shock as he calmly repositioned him self in his chair. Yutaka was still standing unmoving, seemingly staring at the entire scene, but his brain had already stopped registering activity some while ago, he was then startled back to reality, when he felt a gloved hand kindly enclosing his wrist. The brunette slowly turned his head to look at Takanori, whose gaze was cautiously fixed on Akira, as he gently guided the shocked apprentice to his seat.

Yutaka slowly sat down, still visibly trembling, as he attempted to glance at the silent lawyer, whose hand was still tightly held by the crouching blonde.

-I am sorry Shou ... - whispered the lawyer as he carefully stroke his brother's hair with his free hand - It's alright now, I am sorry … - continued the elder in his apology, as the younger firmly maintained his grip, same as the brunette still held by Takanori, who was being viciously eyed by a slightly perplexed Takeru.

-I … - suddenly began the apprentice - I t-think I might be a little too tired, thus I hope you would not mind if I excused myself to my room - he then concluded

-Yutaka are- tried to interjected the doctor but was interrupted by Yasuno

-Not at all Mr Uke, but I would you not finish your food first? - asked the eldest worriedly looking at the brunette

-I am sorry not to do it justice, but I am afraid I will have to pass on it tonight - kindly replied the apprentice

-I understand … well then I shall send someone to take you to your-

-I will escort Mr. Uke ot his room - suddenly stated Takahiro, cleaning his mouth with napkin, as slowly got up form his chair

-I can do it - quickly replied Takanori following the figure of his elder brother, who was walking towards him.

-but I insist - hissed the elder, as he gently separated Takanori's hand from the brunette's wrist, who slowly looked up to the smiling blonde.

-This way - stated Takahiro indicating the exit, as Yutaka hesitantly raised from his chair, starring at Takanori, wishing he had readily sustained the younger blonde's previous offer, as he bowed to the rest of the guests at the table.

-Please do have a pleasant rest, for tomorrow is my birthday, and I am of course going to have a grandiose celebration here- kindly instructed Takeru -I am expecting half of the town and more, and I would surely wouldn't appreciate it if you missed it - concluded the younger with a teasing smile, at which the brunette simply replied with another bow

-Maybe I should go with- tried propose the doctor, but was quickly held by Yasuno

-My my Dr. Niikura - stated the blonde - Is there any reason to be so alarmed? He is in good hands I guarantee it - concluded the eldest blonde with a reassuring smile, skeptically eyed by the elder brunette.

-Do you not trust me … Dr. Niikura? - questioned Yasuno in reply to the doctor's expression.

-Do I have any reason not to trust … Yasuno - calmly replied the doctor

-Not that I know of - replied the elder with a smile.

-Well then, if you would all excuse us - stated Takahiro, as he once more pointed the exit to the unsure brunette, who gave one last glanced at Dr. Niikura, and unwilling complied to the invitation.

-The guest rooms are on the east side of second floor - explained Takahiro, as he lead the brunette, who merely nodded walking behind the blonde.

Yutaka had never been as alert to the presence of his own heart as he was at the moment, loudly hearing each fast-paced and heavy beat hammering in his ear, as he fearfully followed the silent blonde. The brunette wasn't too much of a talkative himself, but such an oppressing silence was rapidly increasing his anxiety, and if he weren't to subsequently die by the hands of the blonde as they reached his room, there was a high possibility he would have collapsed before even reaching said place.

Once on the second floor they took a right turn, continuing in their silent procession, until they finally turned right once more, and stopped in front of the second room on the left side of the wall.

-This is it - calmly stated the blonde with a smile, which Yutaka swiftly replied with his nervous one.

-Thank you very much, for escorting me. Goodnight- politely thanked Yutaka as he entered the room, and was about to close it, when the blonde swiftly blocked it with his raised hand.

-Uh uh … not so fast Mr. Uke ... - paused the blonde as he forced the door open - ... you see ...- resumed the blonde pushing the startled brunette further into the room, as he calmly walked into the room, and slowly closed the door behind them.

-I was actually wondering ... - continued the blonde as he slowly walked towards the receding brunette, who was staring at his unwanted guest in utter fear.

-I was wandering, what exactly happened between you and Kazamasa? - concluded the blonde, with what seemed like a smirk, but the brunette couldn't be quite sure of, for the room was currently dark, and the rays of the moon weren't the most reliable source of illumination.

-I t-tried to h-help him carry his stand and - suddenly stopped the brunette feeling the wall behind his back, and sensing his knees about to give up on him, as the blonde violently slammed but his hand on either side of the brunette's head, leaning his extremely close to his horrified face.

-And ... - whispered the blonde, as he leaned his head on the side of the apprentice neck, lightly and slowly brushing it with his lips, causing a bewildered tremble down the spine of the terrified brunette - … I am listening … - whispered the blond as he lowered one of his hands and placed it on the other side of the brunette's neck, making it slowly travel down the apprentice's chest.

Yutaka shivered under the blonde's touch, not understanding the unexpected reaction, and not knowing what was safe to do next, as said hand gently progressed down his torso, stopping when it touched his belt, and pulled out the brunette's tucked in shirt, swiftly inserting his hand slowly up to through his chest, while he glided his tongue on the shivering neck.

-I expect an answer when I ask a question … - whispered the elder on the younger neck, who tried to pull himself off the wall, but was slammed back on it, by the hand on his chest. Yutaka couldn't talk he was scared out of his mind, which couldn't reason either, what was happening? Why?

Then the hand that was on his chest, pulled out from beneath his chest, and placed itself on the belt, which, to the the brunette's immense horror, the blonde was slowly trying to unbuckle. Yutaka swiftly raised up his trembling hands in an attempt to stop the hand on his belt, but every movement suddenly stopped, when they heard a knock on the door followed by a familiar voice.

-Yutaka? … - the brunette wanted to answer, recognizing Dr. Niikura's, but his voice didn't seem to want to come out, as his mouth fell open.

-Answer … - instructed the blonde as he raised his head to fix his eyes on those of the almost teary apprentice, who quickly complied to the order.

-Y-yes? - he exclaimed with is trembling voice

-Can I come in? … - question the doctor

The brunette hesitantly looked at the blonde with a inquisitively terrified look, awaiting his next order, but the the blonde simply leaned close to his ear and begin whispering, as he tucked in the shirt, and secured the belt.

-Looks like luck is on your side tonight but do not fret - quickly stated the elder as he slightly pulled back to look at the extremely troubled face of the brunette - I shall be back to get my answer - he concluded gently passing his thumb, on the apprentice's closed lips, which swiftly sealed themselves even tighter in fear. Takahiro then completely pulled away, as the brunette slid all the way to the floor, while the elder, took the matches on the desk, and lit the night lamp on it.

-Up - firmly ordered the elder, pulling out the chair in the direction of the apprentice, who slowly got up, strongly holding himself on the wall, while staring at the blonde, who quickly motioned his head towards the door, as he remembered Dr. Niikura.

-C-certainly, please come in - hurriedly uttered the brunette, and the doctor opened the door, allowing himself in.

-Oh, did I disturb? - worriedly asked the elder brunette.

-Not at all Dr. Niikura, we were just talking about tomorrow, and I was about to take my leave so … - replied the blonde - Well, I wish you a pleasant sleep, and I shall see you tomorrow - he concluded as he politely bowed to both men and exited, closing the door.

The doctor sat on the bed, looking at the distressed face on the apprentice, who immediately worked on changing in it into the calmest one he could manage to, flashing a quick smile at the doctor, as he quickly cleaned with his hand the light traces of saliva still lingering on his neck, wondering exactly what the doctor had got him into, which looking at the awkwardly uncomfortable expression on the doctor himself, the elder brunette was asking himself the same question.
