I have seen so many headcanons where Eijun goes to Inashiro Industrial School instead of Seidou High, so I want to add my own version of this particular headcanon. However, mine is filled with a lot of things to explore because let's face it, Inashiro is basically a vocational/technical school. Kids going there are smart, do technical works, learn technical things. So how do we fit Eijun into this kind of school? xDDD
The rest of the entry is basically a copypasta of what I wrote in my computer a long time ago. There might be discrepancies and there are a lot of questions, but I promise they will be as interesting as any other Inashiro!Eijun ideas.
Headcanon first written on 19/10/2015
Let me indulge you with all the Inashiro!Eijun AU of my personal headcanon. I have been thinking all sorts of ideas when I first read it in Dreamwidth (Daiya no Ace kink meme). But I'm no writer, so I end up thinking of ideas.
There are loads, lots of questions to be explored. Please bear with me.
If Sawamura is recruited to Inashiro...
- Who recruits him?
- Who is going to find him interesting?
- Why does Sawamura accept the invitation into Inashiro?
- What kind of studies Sawamura is about to learn? (Since Inashiro is a technical/vocational school)
- Which course will Sawamura take? Will it be interesting? (I want him to be interested/talented in technical stuffs but can't do maths for shit lolol)
- What is his impression of Mei? (the closest to age because they are born in the same year lolol - Mei is in January, Sawa is in May. Mei will act cocky towards Eijun *because* he's a year senior despite being born in the same year lololol)
- Mei is noisy, Sawa is also noisy, wouldn't it be like 2 times noisier? lol
- Is Sawa going to get along with Carlos, Shirakawa, Harada, Tadano, and others?
- Sawa is not going to be the ace until Mei retires, which is two years from now lololol Imagine Sawa's realization upon learning that Mei is not only way better than him, but he's already the *ace* for Inashiro Vocational which kinda... leaves Eijun in the dust.
- What is Coach Kunitomo's impression of Sawamura?
- Will Sawamura be able to improve his skills? How will Sawa improve his skills? Who is going to teach him these skills? Will he be able to play in matches?
If Sawamura is recruited by Rei, but goes to Inashiro...
- What is the reason Sawamura chooses Inashiro instead of Seidou? There must be a reason for that. Sawamura visits Seidou, is interested in Miyuki, wants Miyuki to catch for him. So why must Sawamura choose Inashiro instead? Hmm. How about... Sawamura's parents want him to go some place where he can play baseball and have possible career(s) secured because he's interested in some skills. If it's technical, Sawamura likes repairing things, then maybe Sawamura can take automotive courses. Then again, we have to know what exactly automotive courses offer, which subjects, what to study blah-blah... which means more researches. (But then again, Seidou is also a prestigious school so...)
- Also, Miyuki's reaction over seeing Sawamura in Inashiro and not Seidou. Sawamura's feelings about seeing Miyuki again.
(this is the outline for Inashiro!Eijun AU which I wrote last month when I read the prompt.)
Add to them:
1) Imagine Mei constantly teasing Eijun for being one year junior despite them being born in the same year. Then Eijun teases back by saying that Mei is basically his big brother so Mei has to be more mature and take care of him. Mei is like, pissed.
2) And then Mei learns that Eijun is an only child so he shows Eijun what being a big brother is about. He teaches Eijun some things about pitching, gripping and the basic baseball skills, but does it in a way that pisses Eijun off. Eijun is not happy because all he sees is that Mei is bullying him lol. Eijun goes to Masa-san to complain, Masa tells him about all those things Mei teaches Eijun in a gentler manner, and Eijun sees Masa-san as a big brother more than he sees Mei lol. (Bonus: Masa-san doesn't tell Eijun that he was actually repeating all of the things Mei were trying to teach Eijun.)
3) Mei is the one to teach Eijun change-up :D He's obviously proud of his little brother lololol and Eijun doesn't admit it but he starts respecting Mei like any little brother would to their big brother :DDD
4) Bonus: Eijun accidentally calls Mei "big brother," which makes Mei really proud lololol I think he uses the term "aniki".
Mei: Did you just call me "aniki"? *grins*
Ei: Wha-- it was an accident! ////
Mei: *grins wider* So you did call me aniki~~ call me more, come on, don't be shy~~~
Ei: *blushes furiously* ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! *dashes away*
Over time, Eijun nonchalantly calls Mei "aniki" because apparently calling him that is super effective when he wants Mei to teach him something, since Mei will never refuse his request this way (too proud of having a cute little brother such as Eijun lol). Eijun becomes a really manipulative little brother lololol
5) Eijun has a very good friendship with Itsuki. Being both the reserve pitcher and catcher, Itsuki works hard to catch Eijun's pitches. Itsuki seems to have insecurities, so he's surprised when Eijun doesn't scold him whenever he fails to catch Eijun's pitches. Eijun is the one who keeps apologizing though. (Bonus: they run the field together, and Mei is somewhat jealous lolol) (Bonus #2: Itsuki reads somewhere that strong lower body helps improve pitch speed and tells Eijun. Eijun takes this advice seriously, asks people around, and someone recommends him to run with heavy things (tires most likely lol))
6) Eijun thinks Shirakawa is cool. One time he sees Shirakawa doing his project assignment (I'm thinking he's into robotics) and thinks it was cool. Sometimes he imitates Shirakawa talking, much to the 2nd years' amusements lol. Shirakawa hates Eijun for imitating him.
7) Eijun also thinks Carlos is cool. For him, Carlos is like a foreigner so at first he tries to speak in English (and fails spectacularly lol). Carlos is like, "Why are you speaking in English? I'm a Japanese you know." Eijun takes a while getting used to seeing Carlos stripping though, shrieking indignantly whenever he sees Carlos without clothes.
8) Some of the stories about Mei, Eijun learns them from Masa-san. He learns about Inashiro's failure at Koshien because of Mei's careless pitch, he's immediately reminded of the one time his pitch caused his middle school team to lose. He hears about Mei getting into a slump, and Eijun wonders if it can happen to him in big games like Koshien. Eijun empathizes with Mei so much that he cries.
9) Eijun becomes a decent batter in Inashiro. At first it's because Mei teases him all the time, "Come on! What's with that shitty swing? My (big) sister can do better than you!" and he feels challenged, but then he turns to a senior (probably Masa-san? Or maybe someone else) who in turn trains his eye-hand coordination. The senior is very strict towards Eijun, but then everything becomes easier when the senior goes, "Imagine all these balls are Mei. You want to smack him away. Wait until he goes near, then swing at him." It's super effective, especially when Eijun is angry with Mei's antics. (One time during Inashiro's practice game sometime after Koshien, Eijun is really pissed off at Mei that he actually hits a home run. Everyone is like, "Whoa!", only the senior laughs because he knows.)
[[in case Eijun is recruited by Seidou but goes to Inashiro]]
10) Inashiro meets Seido in the prelims finals. Miyuki is surprised to see Eijun in Inashiro. "And here I thought you'd go to Seido," he says, to which Eijun only laughs because he doesn't know what to say - he rejects Seido and goes to Inashiro because his parents want him to, after all.
Okay, I'm gonna stop. xDDD Feel free to explore more about it. I don't know about everyone else, but since we're headcanoning about the main character it's inevitable that we'd be headcanoning about the school he's going heheh.
On another news: The doujins I bought have arrived in Malaysia! Dunno if they really passed the customs though, but if they have then they might arrive at my house tomorrow or on Thursday.
