update
I've pretty much decided to stay at CMU for Grad school. I'm still waiting to hear from Columbia and Roosevelt, but I'm not sure I want to move so far away. I'd like to consider Chicago for an actual job, but as of right now, it seems like the most stable and realistic choice to stay in Michigan. I'm pretty sure I'd miss my mother terribly.
I'm basically graduating before all my friends, so I'll still have a lot of people here if I continue on. If any of you out there are looking for a roommate for the 2006 Fall semester let me know. Plus, if I start the MA in Creative Writing, they are implementing a MFA program next year which I think I can eventually transfer over to. I know the majority of the faculty and I'm gauranteed a position at the Writing Center. I'm also applying for a Graduate Assistant position which will provide me with a yearly stipend that would really help me out financially. The program is highly competitive though, so I'm just hoping I'll have a chance. The Director of the Writing Center is writing one of my recommendations, so I'm hoping that really helps out because that's where I'd be doing my assistantship at.
We'll see how everything pans out.
