Her words crash around,
Like melting icicles dropping the ground.
Sharp staccato sounds clinking
Their coldness preventing my thinking.
My heart tells me she's my friend,
Her disloyalty is not the end.
Logic whispers it knows better,
Precisely written in a form letter.
"To Whom It May Concern:
Into reason you must return.
This girl has betrayed you several times,
Always leaving bitterness, like ripe limes.
Sever this loss and move on,
For this friendship is just a con."
But my heart says this was just a mistake,
Her actions were not intended to ache.
She'll stop acting this way,
I'm sure any day.
Just give it some time,
Surely this I can abide?
Heart or Logic, who tells the truth?
No one knows, not even the slyest sleuth.
