So I'm sure you guys all know I'm from Houston and most of my family is still there. With the exception of one of my cousins and his family everyone is in Kingwood. My sister and aunt only have minor damage to their homes and fences. Most phones are out and there is no power. Thankfully the Kingwood water system is separate from Houston so they don't have to boil their water. My parents had the worst damage. They had a huge oak tree in the back yard that came down. It scraped the back of the second story and clipped a corner of the laundry room busting the ceiling open. It also took out the arbor thing that connects the back of the house to the garage and the fence, squishing the patio furniture and breaking the door frame of the garage. It came to a final resting place right on top of all three cars in the drive way. My Mom's 3 week old Accord was crushed so bad the side air bag deployed. My sister's Jeep which was parked next to my Mom's car is also pretty squished. The PT cruiser thankfully was parked behind the Accord and has what sounds like only cosmetic damage. My Dad had to break the garage door down with his body weight to get to the chainsaw. Not to bad when you think about the kind of damage that tree could have done to the house if it had fallen a little in the other direction. My sister took a bunch of pictures but I won't be able to post them until they have power which is who knows when.
