I Don't Wanna Grow Up

So I think I have figured out why I like punk music. I think the answer lies in the music's simplicity. The music is a force which channles out out the most raw emotion. You have the anger found in the simple thrash gutitars that is seen in early hardcore like Minor Threat or Black Flag or the angst felt in early Descendents or Buzzcocks. The lyrics are often simple too...as in Guttermouth or Misfits. But the music caputres energy and intensity in their most pure forms. I think this bare bones style speaks to me.

I hate bands with 80 guitar tracks break down after break down, and screaming. You're trying too hard. You don't need that shit to express yourself. You don't need poetical imagery of razors, ambulances, stormy waters, or names of months to convey yourself. I guess in my eyes, music simply loses it's honesty at that point, and punk to me, is honest.

I am also now single...grand.
