This weekend went by in a whirl, as I was telling CS, something's gotta give. Weekends are now spent going for Thai lessons, bike lessons and well, basically catching up on everything else. I feel more drained rather than relaxed, which kinds of defeats the whole purpose of the weekend. As of now, nothing is changing though, the Thai and bike lessons remain, I just hope I don't break down or something.
So.. I went for my first bike practical lesson on Saturday. Was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Luckily I read that the dress code was long sleeves shirt, long pants and gloves so we were in the right gear, there was this guy who turned up in short sleeves and the instructor made him wear the rain coat!! Haha... it was quite funny actually. Anyway as expected, CS and I were the oldest students in class!! There were only 6 of us going through Practical 1.01 (as the instructors called it). The lesson started out with the instructors telling us about helmets and introducing the workings of a bike to us, like how to move it off the main stand, side stand, move it back on etc. Goodness, the bike is VERY VERY VERY heavy!!!!! I almost died trying to bring it up when it fell over. And this is a freaking 200cc bike!! Remember hearing from folks that managing to bring up the bike is part of the test, god.. I hope its not true. Or maybe that's for Class 2, not Class 2B. In any case the lesson got more fun when they showed us how to start the bike and of course how to get it moving. It was a bit scary at first, I must admit. I sorta lost control and the bike fell a few times, haha... Well it helps that I'm still considered a girl (ahem..) so the instructors were quite nice. One of the young kids was complaining about something and the instructor was saying 'she never complain, you complain what', haha.... After we got used to getting it moving, we then moved around in circles and circles. That was really pretty scary haha... and I just can't seem to learn how to control that damn throttle!!! Sheesh.. I braked a few times cos I was so scared I would crash, though I must admit the few times I got the hang of it, it was really quite fun, hehe... We had to pass 1.01 before we can go onto the next 1.02. I actually thought that the instructors will fail me so I was quite relieved when they let me go onto 1.02, hehe... Now I just need to learn how to control that damn throttle!!!
After that very eventful Saturday, Sunday was a lot more mild in comparison. Accompanied Mum and J Aunt to Chinatown to check out some tours as Mum was keen on going somewhere for a break. She had wanted to go Vietnam at first but in the end the tours were so ridiculously expensive going to China made more sense. After a lot of walking and talking, we settled on Nam Ho BUT J Aunt couldn't confirm her leave so we have not made any payment. In any case, Mum emotionally blackmail me so I'm forking out $800 for them to go on holiday :p Actually I don't mind it since J Aunt has always been very nice to me and my bros, and as for Mum, she deserves a break.
As for us, we're going to Turkey in Dec!!! We had wanted to use our air miles to get tix to Australia but that was proving to be Mission Impossible so we're changing it to Turkey instead. CS was checking what other places we can go with our miles and Turkey was one of the places. Pretty excited about it, it has always been a country that I wanted to visit, heh... Now, all I need to do is make sure that AM is around so I can go on leave in Dec!!! No work, no work!!! Pretty exhausted now.. sheesh and it's Monday tomorrow!!!
