Furniture shopping again
and this time we actually bought something! Barang Barang warehouse sale today and SO and I rented a car and spent a whole day furniture hunting again.
The Barang Barang warehouse sale was surprisingly crowded even though we reached at around 10.05am (the sale started at 10am). Saw the daybed that we have been eyeing going for $790 (original price was $1550), at first we thought we would go upstairs to look at some other furniture but the salesguy said we had to pay for it otherwise he can't hold it for us. There was a couple behind us and they told the same guy they wanted the piece as well so we said we were taking it and in the end they backed off. Went looking around to see what other stuff we could get but nothing interested us. Wanted to get the Papasan chair but it was already taken. We would have been able to get out of there earlier but the credit card machine couldn't work so we just hanged around.
Next stop was Picket & Rail since we heard that they had new stuff coming in. In the end, there were only a few new pieces, felt so cheated. We almost bought a display dining table set but in the end we decided we couldn't live with the wobbly chairs, it was a really good deal though $300 for a dining table and 4 chairs and it was just the right size for us. They had a smaller set for $99 with 2 chairs IIRC but that was a bit too small for us.
Actually have more furniture stories to tell but think I better not bore people to death.
In other news, I went to Ma Maison to get my hair cut on Thursday. Did not get to see the famous Jeremy as he was on leave but Kevin did a pretty good job. He was SUPER gentle, haha... never had such a gentle stylist before.
Ok got to sleep now, long day ahead tomorrow.
