Years ago people found out that everything in this huge world, full of various events, is connected. Nothing on Earth happens accidentally. For example, as it was said in the movie, that almost everyone saw, “The butterfly effect”, even a very light flap of the butterfly’s wing on the one side of our planet can cause a powerful tornado on the other side. The same way various experiences influence different people.
Some of us have such a day when something very significant happens makes the whole world turn around. It can be either a car accident, or the death of somebody special for them, or just anything else. These people just start to look at things differently; the incident affects all their future life. Other people change gradually, taking one step after another, slowly moving towards some changes. They work hard on themselves: read great books, listen intelligent music, communicate with smart people, watch important TV shows; they train their minds in order to become different to they have been before, in order to become cleverer, kinder, stronger. These people realize that nobody is perfect, but still they are trying to develop themselves.
Actually, I am the person, who tries to work on himself to become better, to archive some goals. I have read a lot of books, I try to study hard and I also like to listen to intelligent people in order to become a person I want to be.
Two years ago I had to change my school because of the reform of education in Lithuania. When I came to my new school, a gymnasium, I met a unique person there, who is now one of my best friends ever and people that I adore. Her name is Inga and we are of the same age. She is so different from the other schoolmates that I have known! Inga is smart, well-read, interesting, critical thinking and deep. She knows how to communicate affectively; she can always give the right answer to almost every question. The thing that impressed me most of all is her passion to business. She has read plenty of books about marketing, investing and so on. She also wrote a lot of conspectus, she had many notebooks with different notes about her business. She is always talking about business, about different investor’s and businessmen biographies. Even if I did not understand a thing, it was interesting for me anyway. We spend hours discussing world crisis and its causes, comparing it to other similar events in the past, such as Great Depression in 1930s. Inga used to come to my place and we used to drink coffee with have some sweets and talk about various things, but of course mostly about the business. My mother liked to join us and share her experience and knowledge. It was a great exchange of the two generation’s experience and opinions. It was always fun.
Inga also loved English language. Sometimes we were speaking English, though our native language is Russian. My Inga has a British accent, because she had been living in Great Britain for about two years, and I like this accent very much!
Inga is a workaholic. She really loves to work. During our school time she was working on holidays. Inga loved to study things she liked - business and her another passion - universe. She could not wait to enter a London’s University. And so did I.
But in contrast to Inga, I decided to stay here, in my native city Klaipeda and enter the LCC International University. I think it is understandable why I chose business administration major here. Inga is the one who significantly influenced me. She put a lot into my personality. This girl showed me that a passion to such thing as business can exist. While I was communicating with Inga, I have also become interested in business, its environment and future. I feel excited to learn as more about it as it is possible. And I am sure that LCC International University can give me this opportunity. Plus, the education in LCC is in English language. It is a great chance for me to improve and, in future, develop my English skills. This language is called the language of the world. It happened so, that this language is spoken in most of the countries, it is just the language, which almost everyone understands. So that is why in my future life English will be a really big advantage, especially considering my future profession.
Thanks to Inga I have learned a lot of things, for example, I have learned to communicate effectively, speak clearly and answer exactly; I have understood that having an aim is very important, as well as having a desire to help others. I think that LCC International University has similar goals for its students. I also believe that this University will help me to fulfill my aims. Actually, I hope that what I have learned from communication with Inga will be useful for my student life, because now I know how to communicate with diverse people, how to build friendly atmosphere, as well as how to work hard on personal aims.
To make a conclusion, I should say that I hope that I will have more opportunities to meet such people like Inga; actually I think that I will find them here, at LCC. I also hope that I could share this experience with LCC.
