The infamous forest story

Sep 22, 2009 15:28

I remember lying on the tall forest green grass. I breathe in chilly transparent air slowly and breathe it out. I feel the smell of thick and damp moss that covers the trunks of majestic oaks; the smell of rich purple and azure flowers; fragrant, warm rind… The narrow light ray warms my cheek and it feels, as if I was kissed by the sun. I raise my head and see a fantastic beauty - thousands of rays struggle through mighty tree branches, and in these lights the forest dust is shimmering, so it seems as if it was dancing a forest waltz. I am so amazed by everything I see that I don’t even think about how could I get to this fairy tale.
After a few moments I decide to get up and take a look around. Suddenly I notice a little bear. It is rummaging in bushes. I want to come closer so that I could have a good look on it. As I come closer, the bear hears the rustle of grass that I make and runs away. I don’t feel disappointed; there are a lot of other things to examine.
Then I continue walking, and I come upon a cup. It is really strange to find a piece of civilization in such virgin forest! The cup is made of porcelain and it has a picture of some flowers on it. It seems to be as old as the world - its color has faded and the picture is almost peeled off. I decide to leave the cup where I found it and to continue walking.
I went further, thinking about my mysterious find. How did it get there? To whom it belonged? For how long has it laid there? By this time I come out of the trees and bushes and see a little lake. Its water is like a liquid sapphire - so mysterious and deep; the sunlight twinkles in it as the stars twinkle in the midnight sky. Hundreds of dragonflies are flirting with the cold water of the lake and its lilies. I hear that music of dragonflies’ wings. I come closer to the water to wash my face and to have a sip. The water is so sweet that I decide to take a few sips more. Now, when I have quenched my thirst, I can continue my journey…
I pass a lot of trees, bushes and flowers, I see various exotic wild animals and birds, until I come upon a high fence. It seems to be the same age as the cup that I have found a few miles away from here. The fence’s color has crumbled and now there left bare iron rods with a few silver stains - the remains of the color. I wonder what is behind this fence and decide to climb on it in order to pass it, but as I reach the very top, I suddenly lose the balance and fall down. When I hit the ground I open my eyes and see the ceiling of my room. “It was only a dream…” - I thought regretfully.
