"i gave my cousin a turd for christmas. i was very proud of myself"-Michel Gondry

The weekend away from Santa Cruz was great. On Thursday night, Adam, Scott, Maddy, Charlie, and I went to go see the midnight showing of Pan's Labrynth, which was awesome. I think Rachel was right in summing up that its good but has its trite moments. The next day I got together with Scott, Maddy, and Charlie and we went to lunch at the Buttery. Then Scott and I drove up to Livermore. We went for about a five mile walk around Livermore, watched Barbarella, and had cereal for dinner. On Saturday we started the morning off by watching some videos by Michel Gondry. Then we drove up to Mount Diablo and hiked around (I will post photos later). There was snow up there! It was so cold and windy that I almost got tossed off a rock. After that we got some chili from Erik's Deli, tried to find a nice backgammon board at the mall, and found a Bocce place. Bocce is a type of Italian bowling that's a lot of fun. We get in there and we were about to buy a game and this member comes up to us and is like "hey, play with me and you'll get a discount". So we played with this awesome old guy who taught us all the rules. I got free rum in my diet coke and didn't get carded. After Bocce we headed back to Scott's house and played Skip-Bo, watched Dogma, and took another walk. Then we made dinner, enjoyed some drinks, and played Scrabble. The next morning we got coffee, walked around downtown, and then headed back to SC. When we got into town we picked up Maddy and Adam and went to lunch at Seabright Brewery which had horrible service but fairly good food. After that Adam and I went to Capitola to pick up his new Wiimote and watched Old Boy. Incest is icky.

I went into the financial aid office today to figure out how much they were going to take off my financial aid because I'm only part-time right now. It's only going to be about three hundred dollars, which is definitely not as much as I thought it was going to be. It's a lot off my shoulders.
