Upon regaining ownership of his face and recovering from his depressive bender, Ichijou suddenly became much more prone to being social again. His first priority, reluctantly, was to check and see what parts of the town had been destroyed in the attempts to succeed where Audrey had apparently failed. The results of his walk through town disturbed him - given an hour-long time limit, just how was it that the other residents were able to cause so much damage to such sturdy-looking structures? The town clock in particular bothered him, since it had been destroyed with such precision. How was that possible ( ... )

As caught up on his quest as he was, Flynn hadn't gone completely deaf. Certain parts of his life as a thief required him to pay attention to other people even when he would really rather not. Still, it took a few second for the words to register.

Whirling around, Flynn took in the other guy's appearance quickly. He didn't look like the palace guard sort, though, so he relaxed slightly, but the worry lines didn't leave his face.

"I don't have a lot of time right now," he began, voice a little more clipped than usual, cutting straight to the point. "Have you seen a girl around? Barefoot, purple dress, probably has a frog riding on her shoulder."

He wasn't going to go much more into it than that until he got the man's answer. He still couldn't place the shadow of a person that lurked in his memories. For all he knew, this guy had helped take Rapunzel.

This new fellow's sudden movement caused Ichijou to give a little startled noise as he flinched and nearly dropped his cup of tea. Coming across someone who seemed ready to shank someone was definitely not something that he needed among thoughts that everyone around him would probably want to kill him eventually (and there wasn't a single thing he could do about it, not to mention his security guards weren't even around ( ... )

This time it was Flynn's turn to give the other man a skeptical look. He wasn't sure what the other man intended to do with the... the... Well, he wasn't sure what to think of the CAT. Was it supposed to be some sort of...? He couldn't even think of something familiar to compare it to. A woman's broach?

Shaking that off, Flynn gave a short nod. "Everyone else? If they can help find Blondie, then okay."

Normally he wouldn't ask for help, but this situation called for him to change his ways slightly. He'd teemed up with worse that this man in his life, and there wasn't anything that immediately screamed out that Ichijou was untrustworthy.

"The name's Flynn Rider, by the way." Flynn looked around expectantly, assuming to see a town square or something similar in the near distance. When he didn't spot anything, he turned a quizzical glance back toward Ichijou "Right. So where do we meet everyone else?"

If one went by the immaculate care of his nails (currently painted with a sheer, pearl-pink color), it wouldn't be surprising if Ichijou actually had been wearing a woman's broach. He was the type to wear whatever the hell he wanted as long as it pleased him ( ... )

Flynn's expression shifted quickly from shock, to a certain level of suppressed anger, to finally a forced neutral expression as he tried to keep the urge to snap back at Ichijou under control. A sarcastic and likely obnoxiously chipper comeback was usually more his style, but Ichijou wasn't the only man under a lot of stress at the moment.

Gingerly lifting up the CAT, Flynn glanced at Ichijou again from beneath lowered eyebrows. "Just speak to it?"

There was that sarcastic disbelief shining through. He'd managed to keep his cool -- for now.

Flynn looked down at the device in his hand, weighing his options. He needed to take every chance he could to find Blondie, but magic was something he was more than a little uncomfortable with. Not that he'd freak out or anything, just...

Well, it wasn't his forte.

Making up his mind, Flynn attempted to force the CAT back into Ichijou's hand. "Magic, huh? Even after the last couple days I've been through, I don't think so. You do it. Just ask for Rapunzel."

Oh, this was just lovely! Ichijou had the misfortune to stumble into and try to assist another one of those hicks who believed that telecommunications were magic. These two had a common trait of being intensely uncomfortable when it came to the supernatural (even though Ichijou was wearing a magical scarf, but he didn't know that it was magical.), but he was too overwhelmed by a sudden pang of frustration to even have the slightest desire to commiserate.

He was left so overwhelmed, in fact, that for a few moments the only sound that came from him was something like "Nnnh." He wanted to say something, but his mind was so garbled from Flynn's ignorance that regaining his composure was turned into something of a struggle.

Taking the CAT back, he started his tirade with his voice sounding almost like a hiss, "It's not magic, you idiot! Radio waves and receivers are extremely well-understood, and while the interface of these devices isn't exactly common, the basic concept has been relevant worldwide for at least 75 years ( ... )

Flynn reacted, moving to seize the front of Ichijou's shirt before fully processing what had been said.

"You're wrong," he ground out. Even though he couldn't help feeling that Ichijou might have a point. What had he been able to do to prevent the old woman from doing anything to Rapunzel? Was there really anything he could do if Rapunzel wasn't here? He didn't even know where here was yet.

Even if that was so, though, he knew he couldn't give up. Not when it came to Rapunzel. He couldn't think of anything that was more important in his life right now. She was his dream and he couldn't give up on her now.

Pressing his face close to Ichijou's, Flynn narrowed his eyes. "I don't care where she is, but I'm going to find her. And there is nothing that can stop me from doing that."

With a disgusted snort, he released Ichijou and shoved away from him, turning away at the same time.

"If you still want to help, use that thing. I'll start looking for Blondie on my own."

He wouldn't waste more time fighting with Ichijou.

Ichijou's first instinct when Flynn made a grab for him was to run like hell, but he couldn't even come close to reacting quickly enough. His second instinct was somehow even more useless, as he pathetically cried out, "M-Murakami ( ... )
