As Fuu biked west, she wondered just how in the world she could concisely explain what was going on here. (Or for that matter, if she could say anything concise at all. She seemed to be having a bit of trouble with that.) Well, nothing wrong with lots of information!

Mister Yumasaki seemed to be very easy-going, and she looked forward to talking with him. Perhaps his experience - fictional though it seemed to be - would bring some interesting insight to the very real dangers in the town right now.

She found the narrow-eyed boy looking somewhat incredulously at the ecliptic buildings of the shopping center across the street.

"It's all about as eclectic as the people who have been summoned here," she said, giving him a little wave as she got off her bike.
"A pleasure to meet you." She gave a bow.

"It's like someone was trying way too hard to emphasize the diversity of the place and just ended up with a sloppy setting design... Are these places all from alternate universes too?" He was mostly talking to himself, although it was probably something worth checking out - maybe this town just thrived on stuff getting pulled in from other universes. That seemed like a reasonable theory, and probably a step up in importance from 'the Mayor was dead the whole time' (which was still totally a valid concern ( ... )

"Dark and angsty, yes, you could say so! Murders might do that to a person." Her face darkens, even though her tone is still happy." I was really not feeling well after the first one, but, well, I remembered who I was!" Fuu gives a wry grin at that clever use of the phone booth's message. "But I think we're still in a angsty arc. Well, maybe? I feel pretty happy, all things considered."

Oh, but how she was going on!

"I was wondering, where are you from, Mister Yumasaki? If I may say so, your name is wonderfully Japanese-sounding..."

Of course the reference to the phone booth was totally lost on him, but Walker could at least appreciate the sentiment - and also the fact that Fuu seemed to actually catch his drift here. Understanding the nuances of your current plotline was an important thing, especially in dangerous situations! "That's the best way to think about it," he confirmed, "if you get too caught up in an angsty arc, it can quickly go from suspenseful to boring. The heroes have to be strong and optimistic sometimes, or else it sounds like the writers are creating so much drama that it's impossible to take seriously ( ... )
